Had a great experience at Sumo's for dinner today. The hostess was really nice and greated us with a big smile! Our waitress was really tentative. But the best part was James our chef...he was hilarious, cooked our steak perfectly "medium" just like we requested. The portions were great. Had to get a to go container. Diffiently coming back again and will be asking for JAMES!!
The food here use to be amazing. Today was horrible, 1st we had to tell the chef there was egg shell in the egg. Instead of scrapping that and getting a new one he "picked it out" not getting all of it, the rice was lumpy and mushy while the steak was crispy on the outside and not cooked much on the inside. Sadly the salad and vegetables were the best part. We won't be back.
We had the worse experience. It was mine and my daughters birthday, she was so excited to celebrate her 18th birthday at Sumo. It was the worst experience we ever had. The cook was GREAT, the only positive experience we had that night. Th lady, manager/owner Ms Lin I believe is her name was EXTREMELY rude to our party of 13. She made us feel like we were a inconvenience. AFTER several instances of her nasty attitude, and eye rolling and total rudeness to my sister more than once we were just taken aback.We ended up trying to talk to her about her nasty attitude after she threw the take out tray at my sister.. after we confronted her about her attitude, no cussing or ignorance, just wanted to know why she had such a nasty attitude and ruining both our birthdays and she didn't care. She then told the servers to hurry up and get out tickets to hurry and get us out of here. It was so disappointing, we used to love this place..none of us will ever be back. It was so terrible how we were treated and on such a special day.
Pros: great cook and decent food .Cons: literally was rushed to eatWe started to finish our meal and we were rushed to eat/ pay. Grabbed the check so fast after we paid that it still had our card in it ?Not sure if I'll go back to be honest. I was told by some at the table that it is the norm

The food and service was great! Had to wait about 30 to 45 minutes to be seated. They don't take reservations. It was also the the weekend before Valentines so they may have been a factor too

Went alone hoping for a quick dinner. Mistake. Don't go to one of these alone. They would only seat me at a grill seat. Then I had to wait for the rest of the seats to fill up. It was 40 minutes from salad and soup to having a cook come and start dinner. It took an hour from soup and salad to my dinner being ready to eat.I ordered a dinner combination. 35.00 The folks that ordered the early bird special 15.00 got twice as much food!Just not the experience I was hoping for.I won't return.
I didn't take any pictures this time but the service was excellent. So you get to enjoy watching your chef cook and entertain you with his cooking tricks in the center of your table. Its a very nice place for the family or about group 8. And yes they do serve drinks.
We just moved here and were anxious to give Sumo a try. I placed an order for pickup, and was a bit shocked at the language used by the girl taking my order. She told me to hold on for a minute in the middle of me giving her our order. She proceeded to drop the "F bomb" in her conversation to whomever she was talking to. I was in complete disbelief. It's not like she skipped a beat, she went on with her rant to this person. It didn't even sound like she put the phone down. Who does that??? I honestly don't know why I didn't just hang up, but I didn't. She finished taking my order, and the food was amazing. I've never had anything like this happen before. We'll even go back because the food was very good. Don't be surprised by anything you hear there!
