Every minute of the wait was worth it!!??First of all, thank you to the kitchen. Cooking soul food, SIX days a week, & actually having reasonable store hours is not an easy task. Thank you so much!The food was immaculate, you could taste the flavor in every bite. This is was the best soul food I’ve had in a public restaurant in a hot minute. It doesn’t take a lot of magical decor for a place to be delicious. You will not regret coming here. But do be patient, food like this takes awhile to cook.

I visited this spot yesterday. We arrived at 3:07pm and ordered. Our food arrived at our table at 4:37.However the wait was worth it. We ordered Hamburger steak, green beans, mac and cheese, and candied yams.It did not disappoint. Everything was hot and fresh. The lemonade was good too.So if you go just know you will wait over an hour for your food. That's why I'm giving 4 stars.
So happy this family took our order even when they were about to close for the night. Thankful we have found this restaurant before we fly back home to Hawaii.
I got the dinner with 2 sides. The meat was well-seasoned. I got the fried swai fish, rice and gravy, and macaroni. The macaroni was horrible because it was only macaroni, cheese, and butter. There wasn't any creaminess to it and no flavor. The gravy wasn't flavored but taste like it was from a jar. I was expecting so much more from a soul food restaurant.
5 stars is NOT enough for this place! It has a rather unassuming exterior, but it is absolutely worth the trip. The staff are so friendly and the food is EXCELLENT! They don’t skimp on the portions, and the peach lemonade should not be missed (it is possibly one of the best non-alcoholic drinks I’ve had).A point of note to the negative comments around long waiting times: they have a sign above the kitchen door to remind patrons that food is cooked fresh to order, so it’s not fast food - but since when is soul food made in seconds? Food arrived within around 30-40 minutes, equivalent to what I would expect in any restaurant, and I would always rather food be cooked right than rushed. It was hot and delicious, what more can I say?Highly recommend this place to anyone either for a takeaway or to eat in, and shall definitely be back when I’m in the area next!
Honest review, aint had a plate this good in a long time. Wife and I both tried the hamburger steak w/ gravy onions bell peppers and mushrooms. My sides were the mac and cheese and greens. Portion size was amazingly generous! Greens were a bit salty but nothing overwhelming. Everything else was exceptionally well done ✔ Definitely appreciated the love cooked into that plate, and certainly will be back. Worth the wait!!! Thank you ma'am
Sooooooo first thang first , that wait time.. I waited two hrs (I saw the tickets ahead of mine)No I ait complaining I read the reviews beforehand, but just keep that n mind when you go.Ok so anyways the foodWAS AMAZING WORTH THE WAIT TO MEI had the hamburger steak with double Mac n cheese. Everything melted n my mouth omfg cooked to perfection , I don’t even eat cornbread like that but omfg this cornbread was so sweet n soft lawdddddd . My bf got flounder and rice n gravy with Mac n cheese as well. No complaints on his end .S/n the young man behind the counter was sweet n help with my order and I’m guessing the little guy was his brother , he was also taking orders that was dope to see ✊?✨
All I can say is OMG this food is lip smacking finger licking good the customer service is divine I felt completely at home as if I knew them personally or a family member the food is season 2 perfection I give it five stars
