The worst experience ever here, and I have been here a lot. First, yes they were busy, but that's no excuse...I noticed the table she brought me to wasn't even wiped off. Then I had to ask for silverware so I could use my napkin. Luckily I had some in my purse. I also had to ask for a straw, which she dropped it as she walked by. I ordered walnut shrimp, a favorite of mine. When she brought it by, slid it on the table and kept moving, I had to call her back. There were no candied walnuts on the dish. She took my plate and came back and said, there they are. These were NOT candied walnuts, it was just some plain walnuts they threw on there. By this time my food was cold and I had lost my appetite. If they don't have all the ingredients for a dish, they need to tell you that BEFORE they bring it to the table incomplete. It will sure be a while before I go here again, and the food and service is usually so good...
Wow. The yellow tail was so amazing. Crazy to think I haven't been here before
Just what I was looking for!I'm very picky with my food. That doesn't necessarily mean that I've got very high standards - I probably wouldn't know an authentic Chinese or Japanese meal if it hit me in the face. I'm okay with that - I like what I like! ?♀️The sesame chicken was amazing! The sauce was nice and sweet, and the serving of chicken was very large, tender, and full of white meat. It went really well with the plain white sticky rice they included, so I couldn't have been more pleased. The potstickers were lovely, nice and crispy. I don't know if they're a frozen to thaw type or made fresh, but I enjoyed them none the less. The crab rangoon/cream cheese wonton was okay - the wontons were a little chewy, but that may have been a side effect from the steam, as they came to me via delivery. They were still eaten and enjoyed regardless!Overall, I have found my new Chinese restaurant on this side of town and look forward to exploring their menu in the future!
They going thru the same things everyone else is since "you know what" not enough employees so the food and service take a hit. The fried rice is still good and couple of other things. But I had some lettuce wraps the other day that were terrible. Made me a lil sad. Just go stick to the rice until stuff get better.
My food was horrible. The chicken tasted like it had been sprayed with antiseptic and the rice had no taste at all. I had just been to the Red Bowl at another location and thought I would receive the same service at this one but I did not. My food was not even edible so I just trashed it. So my family and I had to figure out what's for dinner after this fiasco. Avoid this place!!!!!Update : I did not eat in the restaurant and therefore did not know how the food tasted until I got home to eat my food. Your food was too expensive to miss the mark.
I got an $82 bag of junk. The last time I ordered I said that would be the last time but I gave them another chance; should've gone down the street for pizza. The eggrolls were mushy inside, hard crab rangoons, lemon pepper-LESS wings, "bang-bang" shrimp coated in yum-yuk sauce and a whole 1/2 bowl of bland teriyaki WATER (not sauce) bathing the stir fry bowl of mostly broccoli and my shrimp add-on was missing. These people are disrespectful to their clientele/ demographic because they're knowingly cutting corners by serving food that's in no way American Chinese. Its junk food. I deserve a refund.
Do NOT go here. The manager is rude and argues with you rather than correcting it. She had the audacity to tell us we ordered wrong online despite us having proof we didn't. Then said you paid it's yours. Then when we called in because they said they fixed it and didn't she continued to argue. She is horrible at customer service, horrible at fixing things. Not once have I had an issue at any other red bowl in the area but every time I use the one in Sandhills it's never right and manager is the problem. 10/10 do not recommend. Go to Goji in lugoff of sushiya on Killian instead. You'll get the right food and amazing service unlike here.
Red Bowl Bistro has an excellent menu for Asian food but their sushi is lacking. I was very disappointed about how small their salmon and tuna rolls were. Also, too expensive for what you get. If you want good Asian food I recommend them but if you want sushi, there are better places around to eat.
So the only reason I even gave a 2 star rating is because of the waitress Emily(I give her 5 stars personally). It started out as a disaster immediately. My aunt made a reservation for 20 people at 2pm on Sunday to celebrate a my best friend'slittle sister. All 20 where there prior to 2pm for reservation. We waited approximately 15 minutes before they even took us to the back area where we were to be seated and when we get back there it was only enough room to seat 8 to 10 of our party. The hostess was stunned as others were seated at the tables that were set for our party but she turned around and walked away without saying anything to us. We all stood in the hallway for a few not knowing what to do until we decided to move out of others way as we were blocking the restroom hallway. We stood back at the front waiting to be told something in which we still had to go seek out the answer because the hostess didn't come back to say anything. We were waiting as we saw one of the larger parties in the area leave thinking that they were going to clean the area for us but no.....they decided to put us in the front area split area split apart from each other at separate tables. No apology no accommodation for the inconvenience of anything. Here we were trying celebrate a going away and the person being celebrated was unable to mingle with her guest due to us being split up. We were nearby but how we were seated we could not see each other. 8 people at one circular booth, 6 at another circular booth, and then 4 at a stand alone table. We were seated and the hostess came and just sat the menus and some utensils on the table but I do mean just sat them. She sat them down in a stack and walked off without saying anything. We should have left then but where could you really go last minute to accommodate that large of a party. Emily was our waitress and she saw our dismay and frustration. She came to the table friendly and constantly with a smile. She took care of us to the best of her ability and she did everything she could to better our experience. She gets an A+ but the restaurant hmph i may not even return. Oh get this, THEY DONT SERVE ALCOHOL ON SUNDAYS. Not that was that big of an issue but dang knowing that prior to the reservation would've been nice. I hope this does not come off wrong but I dont always expect great service from Asian restaurants but I sure didn't expect to be completely disregarded.
My wife and I found a new place with plant based (vegan) options, since there aren't many in Columbia. The menu even encourages ordering custom dishes. We also like that brown rice is an option, and can substitute meat with tofu.
