Came for dinner a couple weeks ago and we had a great experience. The ambiance in the restaurant is very modern with a decent amount of bar seating.The service was exceptional and our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu. Upon her recommendation we both got the flounder special and raw oysters. The oysters were fresh and the flounder was perfectly seared and moist. The accompanying gnocchi and cream sauce seemed house made and complimented the flounder very well. The only criticism I'd have was that the filet was a bit too salty.We also got a few specialty cocktails with dinner. They were relatively reasonably priced and strong but tasted good.We would definitely come back again.
Pearlz Oyster Bar on Gervais Street in Columbia is a great place to go for delicious seafood and drinks in a cool and relaxed atmosphere. I really like the location and everything that they have available here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have a really good experience.
Lunch in “The Vista” was a great treat after enjoying the “Soda City Market” yesterday. We decided to hit Pearlz as they open for lunch on Saturday only. We first had a dozen steamed oysters, but no picture as my camera was not fast enough. They were excellent. We then ordered a small basket of triggerfish bite and seafood gumbo that were great also. My love of oysters were next as we ordered a 1/2 dozen of grilled oysters, New Orleans style. I came out ahead on this one as my goup was full of oysters and I was still craving them. Bam bam were they good. We all finished with their famous stacked salad of shrimp, crab and veggies. Bam bam again. I had to get a box as we were out our limit of food. In addition, I have 2 pictures of Kevin, not our waiter, but the person that brought our food out. He was so pleasant and extremely accommodating for an eccentric guy like me!!! 3 stars, Kevin, and a rare double picture!!!
I'm not sure what has happened to this place. I've always loved Pearl's...the past 2 times have been, let's just say less than one would expect. Oysters are good, let's start there. Service was also good tonight but that kitchen staff.. grill cook, what have you got going on back there? Has no one showed you the thumb trick? We ordered a medium strip and medium well strip and both were rare.. and what's this new marinade y'all using? I drove an 1:15 minutes back home and we are still regretting that marinade.. nasty. I debated on feeding my leftovers to the dog ?If you've never been to Pearl's, go, order anything but that NY Strip.
Went to Columbia for a concert at the Colonial Life Arena, Pearlz Oyster Bar has become my new favorite out of town restaurant. Actually have been back several times driving from Augusta Ga it’s that good! Each time I have went they have varietal oysters so you are always getting oysters from several different coasts. The atmosphere is fun, the staff are always welcoming, the bartenders are great. I have tried something new on the menu each time and have not been let down yet! They make a mean Bloody Mary as well as Martinis! There is another oyster bar right next door that is also highly recommended but I haven’t wanted to try it yet as Pearlz is so good.
Very chill atmosphere, our bartender gave us such lovely service and catered our requests with such ease even though we changed our minds a couple of times! On Sundays they have half off select bottles of wine! We enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco and she even corked the remainder for us!
Great food and Service. We will be back.
We had southern fried oysters, oysters Rockefeller and cajun rice. It was pretty tasty. The service was good. The vibe was good. Friendly staff.
We had a great lunch at Pearlz today with the catch of the day sandwich!!! Trigger fish was so good as usual. Over my few years, I have caught many trigger fish and believe it is one of the top 10 fish to eat. The brussel spouts were excellent along with one or two of my Brides asparagus. She had the mahi mahi tacos with black beans that she raved about. Great Saturday lunch spot!!!
