Food was mediocre. Service was awful. We waited for more than an hour and twenty minutes for our food. They were busy for 40-45 minutes then it really slowed down. I kept coming up with excuses telling my family :”they seem short staffed, maybe because they are busy” then the waitress came and said there was a shift change and they forgot about our order. We were getting up and ready to leave when they brought the food.I won’t go back. No supervisor or manager seen at sight. No apology given except from the waitress who forgot to place our order. Needless to say poor service. The burger wasn’t bad but the buns were stale.
The burgers are the best I've ever had. Five stars for the food. The ambience seems wonderful, especially the outside dining area where the "front porch" part of the name comes from. However, they do allow smoking in that area which completely destroyed it for us. We had to move inside. If they were to ever get rid of the smoking, I'd increase my rating to 5 stars. Since I'm from out of town, though, I don't know if I'll ever find that out.
Early dinner on a weeknight: seated immediately and prompt, courteous drinks service. A paper menu was kindly provided for this technologically challenged old person. The fried crawfish tacos were surprisingly good, if messy, but an adequate supply of napkins was provided. I would definitely return, either for more crayfish tacos or to try other menu items (e.g., grilled mahi-mahi tacos, burgers)
Normally, I would rate this place higher based on previous experience and it’s reputation. The food was great, however they were out of A LOT of items from their drink menu (which in the past was a highlight). We received good service and enjoyed the fried oyster appetizer as well as two of the burgers with handmade fries. The bathroom was unkept and didn’t have soap. Hope to come back at a better time!
Went with my teenage son. It was perfect. Had the Fripp Island and Caw Caw Creek burgers. They were delicious and juicy. The French fries are hand cut and delicious. Reasonable prices and friendly service!
We were excited to try this after it was featured in Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. Unfortunately the tables were dirty and sticky, received the wrong beer, the food was salty and burned and we waited over an hour for our food. Our server did give us a discount but it was very disappointing!
Meh….in town to visit family thought I’d give it a try. Our server, Beth tried her best. The burger is very big but the texture is very odd and just one slice of bacon… The chicken tenders were over cooked. I understand everyone is struggling-I don’t understand filling all the seats if there is not enough staff to fill orders and serve. Wasn’t worth the hype or price tag.
We were a bit disappointing with our meal at Pawleys porch today. We ordered A sandwich with onion rings and a fried catfish platter. The fried onion rings were absolutely beautiful but they were so salty they could not be eaten. When we brought this to the attention of the server she went to the kitchen and apparently they were unable to make the onion rings not salty. We settled for a side salad for which we were charged full price rather than the three dollars on the menu as an up charge for substitution. The catfish platter was disappointing with only two small pieces of catfish for $13. Near the end of our visit music began to emanate from the kitchen that drowned out the rock ‘n’ roll music that is normally piped in. I believe it is called rap. Our server was very nice.
Great service and great burgers
We went after the USC basketball game on Sunday. Sat at a table and were totally ignored. Nicely asked a waitress if she know who our waiter was, and she said she had no idea. After 15 minutes, we asked a waiter if someone could get our order and he mumbled something and left. Went to the bar to get our drinks- and the bartender talked to the young man that we had spoken to. Evidently that was our waiter but he refused to make eye contact with us. After 25 minutes, we settled
