Very good BBQ buffet conveniently located in downtown Columbia. The staff is super friendly and the food is great. The price is exactly what you should expect.I personally prefer Shealy's but can't afford a nearly hour drive each way so this is a very nice compromise.
I've been eating at the Palmetto Pig since the early 2000's when I was attending USC. Although I live outside the area, I always stop by Palmetto Pig for lunch when travelling through Columbia. The food at Palmetto Pig is as good today as it was almost 20 years ago. The recipes have not change one bit in that amount of time. They have great hash and pulled pork, amazing fried chicken, and the sides are very tasty.
I finally got back, again, to my hometown Orangeburg style BBQ!!! Dukes & Antleys in Orangeburg and Palmetto Pig in Columbia. Man is it good. Fresh chopped bbq where you add the sauce yourself. Hot plus original sauce mixed is my favorite!! Neither can I pass the best hash over rice around. I also love their excellent, homemade from scratch, mac and cheese along with their mayo based, slightly sweet cole slaw. The final touch is some of the best crispy fried chicken around which I think they add bbq sauce to before they batter and fry it (only a guess). Can’t go wrong here!!!
Great down home feel with food to boot!Plan on taking a nap after this one.Great for dining right before a long flight home.I'll be back.
$15 buys you a great barbeque buffet. The porkand fried chicken are delicious. They have three sauces to choose from: the original sauce which has a hint of mustard and is very smooth, a mustard sauce, and a Tabasco based hot sauce. They are all good. The sides are also delicious. The hush puppies have a unique side flavor that I liked. I enjoyed the food and recommend this restaurant highly.
Great pulled pork bbq, rice and hash. The best fried chicken around. A friendly buffet with pleasant staff.
Great carolina style bbq in the heart of Columbia. Very clean facilities and friendly staff. Sum of the best fried chicken in Columbia.
Great all you can eat barbecue in the heart of Columbia.
It was good. Well kept buffet. Fried chicken was really good. Pork was a little on the dry side. Potato salad and hush puppies were really good.
Amazing!!! Can't believe it took me so long to visit. Plus it's much closer than the counterpart. Workers are friendly. Food was always stocked and hot! Hash was a little runny but flavor was on point. Bbq meat was fabulous. Fried chicken was fresh. They even have banana pudding for dessert. Can't wait to go back.
