Fantastic appetizers and pizza upstairs at the bar. Our lady bartender was quick and friendly. The wings were great- especially that sweet Thai chili sauce, it's not spicy at all and wonderful. The small Greek salads were not small and the perfect balance for wings and pizza. Definitely try the Cuban sandwich pizza. Only I would suggest the kitchen dry the meat out more as the bottom did start to get soggy pretty quickly. Maybe heating the meat separately and adding after the pizza has cooked would help. But on the first taste it was excellent. As was the Kosmic Cat pizza, don't remember the exact name on that one. The pineapple mocktail was refreshing too, especially after adding some tequila ?
Great time here, first time diner at this establishment. Avery was fantastic and knew everything about the menu, even the vegan options that I love. 2 story spot with the kitchen downstairs, but upstairs was the best part! Great views of the downtown and the University of South Carolina, even a corner view of the capital building. Props if you find the correct window that you can see both... game on.
This is by far the best mellow I have been to! Our server, Jade was outstanding and very funny. The manager came to our table to ask how our meal was and we had never been happier. Fine establishment. The campfire peach with Vodka is my recommendation.

We’re not local, so this was our first time at this Mellow Mushroom. The food was just as good as the Mellow at home. We love the House pizza! Our server, Avery, was the best we’ve ever had at our Mellow Mushroom. She was very knowledgeable and kind. She even gave us some recommendations of what we could do around town. Good food, great service. When we’re back in Columbia, we’ll be sure to visit again.
Sat upstairs and ordered some appetizers, was disappointed to see that gluten free dough was only a small but it was good. should really make larger gluten free dough. Our server was Annabelle
We visited the downtown Mellow Mushroom Saturday evening after a tiring day at the zoo. Our server, Kali, was fantastic, very attentive and engaged with our kids about their exciting day. We got a large mighty meaty, as she recommended, which was a perfect size for our family of 3, and was delicious. This was our first time, but we will definitely be returning.
We were at this restaurant for over three hours. The wait for food was completely unreasonable, and the quality of the food was poor. I used to love this location, but apparently it has gone wayyy south. What a shame
We got there on a Saturday night and there was a crowd. We were told at LEAST an hour wait. So we decided to walk elsewhere. After getting to the place which we had called and they said closing at 9...we arrived before 8 and were told we are closing now. So we walked back to Mellow Mushroom. It was just a little shy of a half hour and they had already removed us from the list. So they told us another 20 minutes. We decided to wait. There were two other groups of 2 outside at this time and we could see several empty tables inside. We finally were called..we were 6 adults and 2 children. They advised us we could not sit together. But then we got tables literally next to each other that could have easily been pushed together. But we were hungry so didn't bother complaining. Our sever came and we got drinks. We were ordering one plain cheese for 2 of us and one with lots of veggies for the other 2 at our table. When I ordered ours I said medium. We wanted a gluten free crust. My daughter had already ordered the other one. I asked her what did you get? The server then said oh we ONLY have large crust right now. No small or medium crusts are left. So I said ok. Whatever. We just wanted to eat. We noticed there was one table of two people next to us and that was it. There were plenty of empty booths and tables. There was an upstairs and we had seen a large group come down and leave while we sat but that was it. The other table received their order after about 20 minutes. We waited about another 10 for ours to come. Kali (the server) brought the large cheese and said the other one would be a few more minutes. After at LEAST 10 minutes we saw her coming to the table with a small item and said well that's not for us. She proceeded to set this tiny pizza on our table and I said What? You said there were only large crusts left. She said oh, not for the gluten free. I said I am getting more upset with this place by the minute. To which she just turned and walked away. Well if she had said that we would have ordered 2 of them. At this point we were not going to wait another half hour for another pizza so we just dealt with it. We ate..quickly since the other table had been done for a bit already..and left. I left a small tip though I don't think she earned it. There were way too many issues being that it was almost empty and it wasn't like we ordered tons of food or drinks. We will definitely choose somewhere else in the future.
Had ordered a bunch of pizzas online in the morning for pickup in the evening. Had my receipt and everything. They had nothing and acted like they didn’t care. Yes they offered to make it but I would have been late for get together. They did say have a nice night. Well it would have been better if you after like you cared and/or has the pizza.
