First time here and it was great! Cool little locally owned spot, I think they've been around for something like 75 years!! Awesome. I got the western omelet with hash browns and a side of pancakes and it was exactly what I wanted. Pancakes were dense, I like em that way, flavorful and the omelet was just the right amount. I'll definitely check it out again; maybe french toast next time??!
Mathias is a fantastic little local restaurant. The food here is always great. It's got a cool delicatessen type of feeling mixed in with a classic diner. They have a small buffet that is always a great option. Their burgers are superb. The staff is very pleasant and kind. Getting your food takes no time at all. The parking is kind of a pain sometimes, but I usually find a space. The bathrooms are in a weird location where you walk past the kitchen and behind the counter, but it's fine. All in all, a great place to get lunch at a local business and is becoming one of my staples around town!
I just enjoyed a very good pimento burger along with fresh cut french fries at Mathis Sandwich Shop in Irmo. This place is busy as the food is varied and good. They even have a meat and vegetables option. Their breakfasts are great along with the sandwiches they have for lunch and catering. The tea is home brewed which is an added plus.

I got their western style omelet. They had a Cuban sandwich for a limited time special, which I might go back during lunch hours to get.Food was fresh, tables and counters were clean. My friend and I had prompt service and were very pleased with the portion size.Front parking is difficult, so park on the right side or behind the building. Closed Sundays.
Local, family owned. Love this place. Best fried chicken around! Literally love everything on their little buffet. Friendly staff. Clean place.
I had the Saturday breakfast buffet because the place had good reviews, it was possibly the worst breakfast food I’ve ever had. Hotel continental breakfast is better.I didn’t order off the menu so I can’t speak for that food, but the breakfast buffet was a huge disappointment.To be clear, it’s not that I just didn’t like it. It was disgusting. Go to McDonald’s instead, you at least know what you’re gonna get with them.
in town today and wanted my favorite..?unforntually today was not a good day....chicken taste like it was fryed in 3 day old fish grease..ordered 4 meals for myself. and family...eewww.dad did say lets check out zorbras..lol

Heard positive comments about Mathias Sandwich, first time visit. Lots of great choices on the menu, breakfast items as well. They also have a party menu. Food was good at a fair price. Staff was friendly, helpful, and courteous. I highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch, but they are closed for dinner, so go early.
