My husband and I were craving comfort food on our way back north from spending two months in Florida. Spent the night in Columbia. Found this place just down the road. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Hubby ordered chicken and dumplings (special of the day). We nearly died laughing when our meals came out. Mine was served on a small plate divided in three sections. The plate alone looked like something you put a toddler’s food on. There wasn’t enough food to feed a toddler! It was barely warm and tasteless. Beans were from a can. Hubby’s chicken and dumplings came out in a small bowl. We thought it was soup. They called it chicken and dumplings!! We walked out starved and disappointed. Stay away!
The small plates I ordered for my 10- 11-year-olds were incredibly sparse and disappointing. I usually love their food and service, but today's presentation left us unsatisfied.
Fallon was our server and was excellent; we have lived here 7 years and this was our first time here and the first time we dined out in about 3 years. The service was excellent as I stated but the food had maybe a little too much pepper. To each their own since the establishment always has great things said about it so try it and make your own decisions. This was just my opinion. Service was excellent!!
Fish dinner. Terrible. Bite size portion of fish cutlets. Greens & ocra is extremely bland. Cornbread was dry like it's days old. Spent over $50. Thought I was doing my family a favor by ordering out but my mother still has to cook. This food is NOT edible.
The lady that took my order over the phone was extremely pleasant. The food was Luke warm. I don't know if it was because I live 10 minutes away, but once I warmed it up it was tasty.
Good, ole fashion southern style cooking. The Fried chicken dinner (with collards and cream corn) was tasty and filling. Plus I had a flounder sandwich as par for the course. I was surprised I did not get any napkins or cutlery, but I normally carry my own travel metal cutlery and wet naps. I just forgot to pack my hot sauce, black pepper & Mrs Dash. ?
We went to the one on Two Notch Rd. We had Waitress Hatti. She was so kind and attentive. We love ❤️ Hatti from Virginia.
