Awesome manager. Good hostess service. Food wasn't hot but it was tasty. Except for those Bland, can collards. Had to self-season. Fried chicken could have cooked more. Yams were delicious. Mashed were basic. Waffles were delicious. Better than Waffle House. Fish was boney meaning skinny or thin not meaning full bones. Stuffing was the worse but I wanted to try it just case. Sweet tea was good, weaker than expected or desired but good not overly sweet. Mac and cheese was typical nothing extra ordinary. Pulled BBQ pork was not seasoned. Chicken and dumplings had no chicken. Cornbread was dry. Rice & gravy was basic. I would return to try different items.
Some of the best home cooked food I have found in a restaurant. Many meat choices and even more vegetables. All that I had were very good although mashed potatoes with gravy were just okay. Country steak was moist and flavorful. Peach cobbler with ice cream was a big hit. Lots of choices for vegetarians although some are cooked with pork. Tasty sweet potato fries.Service was well above average and fast. Prices were lower than what I would have expected. I recommend this local chain for a good home cooked style meal.
Lizards Thicket is usually a favorite restaurant of mine, but on Friday May 2022 I decided to go early so that my food would be fresh and ? hot! This was my plate ? There was barely any cheese on my Mac & Cheese, it was watery, and just plain disgusting! They gave me more in one portion but not in the other, the pork chop and mashed potatoes were okay but this plate was disappointing! Been eating here for 5 years now and this was the slackest meal I have ever paid for! Count your days Lizards Thicket on Garners ferry road! I won't be returning!
I came in with a crew of 14 people, there were no complaints in the bunch. I ordered the country fried steak with over easy eggs and biscuit, everything came out as expected. It's not high-end quality but there aren't many other places like it. The restaurant was clean the staff was kind and quick to refill your drink. Definitely would recommend.
Awesome dine-in breakfast experience, and oh boy I came with my appetite. Brought along my contractor, as I wanted to treat him to breakfast, to thank him for working on a renovation. Sooo with confidence knowing this Lizard's Thicket would get GOOD FOOD RIGHT..........They Did!!Cat Fish Breakfast---A must Have!
Many years ago when we lived in Columbia we would go to Lizard's Thicket for down home Southern cooking. They have expanded greatly but have maintained the same quality and service. We were staying near this, one of their newest locations, and found it to be the same excellent experience that we remembered.
Food was good and fast. I had to ask a gentleman to turn his cell volume down where he was watching videos after the waitress refused to. No conflict just not realizing other people aren't interested.
I ordered chicken and waffles and received chicken strips with my waffle which was just ok. Disappointed in my own selection more than the food. The wait staff was excellent!

This is my local breakfast place I usually have the flounder 2 large pieces of fish always take 1 home,eggs over medium potato and toast, good coffee. Excellent customer service
