My family and I were down for my nephews graduation from the Army last week and wanted to try something new instead of the normal fast food. We stumbled on Kiki’s Chicken and waffles for Dinner and we were all to surprised by the service and the FOOD! Excellent all around. The fact that CJ was able to remember everyone’s order & we were a party of 10 without any error is something to talk about. The food was so good for dinner (sorry no pics. Forgot to snap so I made sure I took the breakfast pic) that we returned for breakfast and again was NOT dissatisfied. If we ever make it back to South Carolina this will for sure be to the top of our list to visit . Chicken and waffles is my absolute favorite meal, but I’ve been so disappointed with restaurants that have chicken and waffles on their menu. I’ve traveled for work a lot and I can honestly tell you the best places to get chicken and waffles in every state. It has always been super disappointing to me that my home state didn’t have a really good chicken and waffles on any menu much less a restaurant. I’d heard about Kiki’s on social media, but we live a little over an hour away so I’d never had the opportunity to try it. Well, today is my birthday and my husband reserved seats at IMAX for Jurassic World Dominion because the Jurassic Park movies are my favorite and he thought I should get to see it on a really big screen. He asked me where I wanted to go for dinner, and I jumped at the chance to finally try Kiki’s. Y’all did not disappoint. So good y’all! The chicken has so much flavor and the waffles y’all…holy Moses. So incredibly heavenly. I highly recommend the sweet potato waffle. 10/10, would recommend. As good as the food was, the staff was even better. ♥️ Our wonderful waitress (Please forgive me because I know I won’t spell her beautiful name correctly) T’leaha was so sweet and personable and gave us her recommendations and told us about her favorite menu items. My husband told her it was my birthday and next thing I knew the staff came out to sing Happy birthday to me, and it was hands down the most sincere and genuine happy birthday I’ve ever gotten from strangers. Your staff are all very sweet and a joy to be around. And your manager is as well! Such a wonderful human being, and so thoughtful too! Y’all definitely made my birthday memorable and I can’t tell y’all just how much it meant to me. Between the food and your staff, we will most certainly be back, regardless of the long drive. I’m so proud to have a great soul food restaurant to recommend to folks from my home state. Can’t say it enough, y’all are awesome. Thank you for being so wonderful and making my day amazing. I really appreciate it, and later on tonight, so will my husband. ???
Started off kinda rough. We sat down and waited for over 10 minutes. There were people that came in after us that were being served. We finally requested a Manager. The young lady dejha stated she apologized she didn't see us. The manager Brian then came and stated he apologize and he would discount the meal. The waitress apologized multiple times and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. The food was amazing per usual. Had the beginning not happened the way it did i would have gave 5 stars. But i did appreciate the waitress that kept apologizing that that happened and doing everything she could to make the visit better. Kudos to the manager aswell for acknowledging and fixing the issue.
Foyer area wasn’t tidy and greeting/seating staff was not personable and appeared to be aggravated and agitated/short patient with customer however once seated our server was amazing and attentive and the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Prices are fair and food is great quality for price. We had fried greens beans appetizer, sweet potatoes waffles and chicken, pecan waffles and chicken with a side of Mac and cheese. The sweet waffle was delicious, chicken hot fresh delicious, green beans and macaroni all delicious. The pecan waffle was good but nothing spectacular. Would definitely go again. Went on a Saturday with usc homecoming and fair in town at midday and the wait exceeded 30minutes. Update: Food is fresher in the morning when the grease is fresh. I went back in the evening and the chicken tasted like old grease and food wasn’t as fresh.
Went to Columbia for a day trip and my wife and I were looking for something different to eat and I found this place. My wife got the waffle breakfast and really enjoyed it. I got the chicken and Waffles and it was incredible. The only small issue I had was the service was a little slow but that would not keep me from going there again. The food was spectacular,

I've been hearing about Kikis since I arrived in Columbia and I was finally able to check it out. The bottom line is the hype is real. Kikis is often praised as the best soul food in Columbia and I found no reason to doubt that. If you plan on going, it is apparently always busy so get there early or plan on a little wait. Full disclosure, I was told my wait would be about 40 minutes but I was seated well before that time. They utilize Yelps wait system so you can always check on your place in line while you wait in your car. I ordered the shrimp and grits appetizer, and it was larger than I expected. The shrimps and sausage were plentiful and the dish was very tasty, although the gravy was darker than im used to with this dish. The wings are very delicious, of a good size and you get 5 wholes with the wings meal. After eating the appetizer it was all I could do to finish all of the wings, but I did it, lol. All of the food ordered was well prepared and delicious. I will definitely be back sooner than later. My only wish is that they had a full bar, but the mimosa I ordered was very well made amd had lots of fruit within.
The food was good, but I think the service is what really stood out for me though. Super friendly and on point!
