Great food, great drinks, great service. We were out to enjoy a relaxing dinner and we got it. Our server, "Nina" was awesome and did not rush us, yet was very attentive. I like to finish drinks and appetizers first and then order dinner.I loved their "Build our own salad" which was excellent (fresh, variety of toppings available and was large enough to be a filling meal for me) and satisfying. My guests had their chicken and rice dish and pulled pork sandwich which both complimented was very tasty. We will definitely be back there for a meal or just drinks and enjoy the atmosphere. Great Sports Bar also.

After a long day of travel, popped into this hidden gem for a quick bite. Our server, Michelle, was fantastic - very friendly and attentive. I had the regular wings tossed on the Carolina Gold bbq sauce. The wings were tasty - the sauce was sweet and tangy - but I wish they were just a tiny bit more crispy. Still delicious though. My MIL had the charred wings and she raves about them. I’ll definitely try that next time I’m in town.

Tonight was my second experience at Hickory Tavern. My first time was several years ago and I got drinks upstairs, all was well. We went tonight after tubing and we were pretty disappointed. My food was good but the portions are not very grand. One of my drinks was wrong (our server did go to correct it!) and a few of my party's orders were messed up too. My bill, for two drinks and a meal, was $35 before tip and it just seemed a little ridiculous for the product. We went because a friend of mine had a craving and he was let down as well. The venue is cool and the food can be good but it's a gamble everytime. I'm not willing to pay for 5 stars when that's not near what I'm getting... I hate to see a business not doing well in Columbia and I hope to see improvements but for now, Hickory Tavern is "Eh."

Hickory Tavern on Senate Street in Columbia is a great place to go for delicious food and drinks in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. I really like the variety of different items that they have available and each one is good. The staff here is very attentive and makes sure that you have everything that you need.

Went there for the taco crawl downtown place was really lively very crowded. The tacos were upstairs. The service upstairs was really great. The tacos were delicious. Decided to go downstairs and we went in and sat down. Tried to get a drink but that was very difficult. The waitress rolled her eyes and was very rude. They told us we needed to be set by hostess never came to seat us. When we ask the waitress a question she was kind of snappy and said she would get the hostess she sent over a black girl which I thought was kind of weird because she wasn't the hostess but maybe she thought she needed to send her because we were black and she went on to say the exact same thing that the other girl did and we were just like never mind. We don't need a drink now and we left. I had already decided when I was upstairs that I'm going to come back to this place because the food is really good. That's one reason we went downstairs so that we could get a drink from the bar downstairs instead of the discount drinks upstairs and we knew that you had to pay regular price. But I think that little young girl thought we were trying to get some kind of bargain or something. I don't know what her problem was. After the service downstairs I have second thoughts about that. There are a lot of places in Columbia that I can go spend my money. Not asking for any favors.

Went a little b4 1pm on a Monday it wasn't too busy but it took about 20mins to get our drinks and then another 30 minutes to get our food. I had the Cedar Salmon it was ok kinda bland and I wish the serving was bigger since it cost $19 and I got a sliver of salmon. Baked oysters were pretty good though. Husband got the shrimp and grits and liked it. Server was very nice but wasn't wearing a mask which I didn't particularly enjoy. We sat outside so I can't comment on what the inside was like. Overall it was just ok for me

We arrived at Hickory Tavern and was told there was thirty-minute wait (no problem with that). 45 minutes later I went to the hostess station to check, she seated us at a booth. I saw her talk to a waitress and pointed to us (assuming she was our waitress). We sat at that booth for 30 minutes without even an acknowledgement of our presence. The waitresses walked by our table several times with no response (as if we were invisible). I told the family we were leaving and then talked to the hostess (she apologized) and asked to see a manager. The manager never came out to talk with me. This was a very unfortunate experience as we have enjoyed Hickory Tavern in the past. I won't visit Hickory Tavern again and will not have favorable things to say when asked. We were there on Saturday evening 7 May 2022.

Was so disappointed, daughter recommended, few people in restaurant but we waited at least 30 minutes outside. Then took forever to order and longer to wait for food. Apparently they had no help and no shrimp or, ground beef. The table next to us and they, about 10, left and their dirty dishes were still there even after we left.

We were a party of 10 looking for a fun place to have dinner and drinks. The hosts took hours to seat us down, they had several empty tables but no servers. The server took 30’min to take the food order and we waited for 40 min. At the end we waited 1 hour and a bit for decent food. If the service of this place is the same don’t even think of coming.

We were here to see our son graduate from basic. The lobster roll was at market price (which I assumed meant was fresh. Oh it was NOT even close! The consistency was all wrong and it smelled bad. Because it was such an expensive sandwich ($25), I ate the bread and bed of lettuce and picked around the substance that was allegedly lobster. The waitress didn’t even ask if we liked our meal…I’m sure smelled the foulness of it when she brought it out. Flying home in an hour and praying I don’t get get sick.
