To say service was lacking is an understatement. We stood for over 5 mins before we were seated while all staff walked by us. No the place was not busy 1 customer at the bar. And 2 tables of couples.When we finally were seated the table was dirty and had not been wiped down. Then it was another 8 mins for our server to come to our table whom had already been standing at a table close by chatting with a guy about after work plans. (Yes she was there while we were seated and after her plans were made).Once our server reappeared she was in a rush to get our drinks then heavy sighed when we stated the table needed to be cleaned. Once she returned I assisted in her cleaning the table because she obviously didnt get it. Then we were ready to order, she heavy sighed again. (Really.)She returned with our drink order wrong. 5 mins later. Then additional 5 mins more til the sweet tea had arrived.Our food came to the table semi warm. The fries were already soggy from the beer cheese (but tasted like cheese wiz).During our meal our server passed several times never to ask if everything was OK or to refill the empty tea glass that sat at the edge of the table. We flagged her down as she passed to refill and get our check. (Yes folks she heavy sighed AGAIN!)We waited this time about 10 mins before the check and refill of tea appeared. Then we waited for our server maybe 3 mins to pick up the payment and then 5 mins to return after swipping card.After 10 mins she never returned, so payment slip was left on the table.Over all service was horrible food was ok. Most likely will not return. As we live 2 hours away.
This place was excellent! The variety of burgers is great and very creative. The fries are incredible. Lots of different varieties and toppings...and fries are included in 2 for 1 happy hour! And..no visit to a delicious burger place would be complete without an adult milkshake to compliment the meal. Highly recommended! Setting has indoor or outdoor seating and it's in an interesting section of downtown. Cool place
Grill Marks on Gervais Street in Columbia is a great place to go for delicious and well prepared burgers, shakes, and drinks. I really like the menu and location here. The staff here is very friendly and makes sure that you have everything that you need for your burgers.
We went as a family and we’re happy to get a table immediately. We ordered food and milkshakes. Adult milkshakes arrived totally melted. We got our food and it had obviously been sitting a very long time. My burger was dripping blood despite ordering medium. The milkshakes we ordered my kids never showed up. After waiting 20 minutes after finishing, we finally asked the hostess for our bill because our server never came back. That night, both kids got violently sick, and they shared food. Disappointed because the first few times we went, it was excellent.
Was really excited to eat here. The burgers on the menu looked amazing. Upon arriving, there were a hand full of people inside. We waited at the hostess booth for 15 mins with not being acknowledged. Made the choice to eat outside. Once seated we waited another 15 mins for a server. We ordered and received our food 30 mins later. The burger I ordered was not even warm. The bun was stale and hard. The fries were good, and hot. Our drinks were not refilled until after we finished eating. Strange vibe in this place. Unfriendly staff and lack of service was a real turn off. Save yourself some money. Just go to five guys. Honestly, Five Guys burgers are always fresh and hot.
We are residents here and have dined with them many times. However, this particular night, was a horrible experience especially while celebrating a friend's birthday. Our waiter was Hunter and he was not attentive at all. We waited an hour for 2 shakes and when they finally arrived, they looked thrown together. Little did our waiter know that I've had this particular shake before and it had a much better presentation the first time and I told our waiter this. His excuse was that they "changed glasses" which had nothing to do with it's horrible display. Then we waited and waited for food that was cold and hard. And to put the cherry on top...our waiter knew it was someone's birthday so he made a nice gesture to give her a free brownie however, it was cold and hard like it was taken directly out of the freezer and plated. Thanks but no thanks. Will not return. Photos attached includes the way the shake is supposed to look and what we were served.
Our daughter attends USC her in Columbia. She recommended Grill Mark's for lunch. I have to say this place is very good. Loved the atmosphere and the food was great ?. Baileigh was our server and did a great job. Always checking to make sure we were good. Food came out as ordered and was hot. The milkshake was great after my meal ?. Will definitely be back during our return trips to Columbia. "GO GAMECOCKS ".
One star because nieces loved their milkshakes and waitress was kind. But that's it. $20.00 for a chicken burger that was not worth it and greasy fries. Chicken occupied about 50% of the bread (it was very small) and had no flavor.
This will very a very hard review. Starting with the bad = hamburger and fries. 2 star. Mediocre. Dry. Overcooked. Lacking flavor. Fries were soft, cold and nasty.But, alas --- their craft milkshake and floats are A++++++++++. Out of five stars, my float was ten stars!!!!!Holy Strawberry Cheesecake Float. Check out my picture. Everything about this float brings out the inner kid in me, jacked up on a ultra sugar buzzzzzz. I watched the dude make it, he was skilled. Flavor explosion! Mind freeze! Pure Awesomeness.I do want to mention that the staff are great and very attentive. The ambiance of the spot is great, on a Saturday night, sitting facing the street makes for great people watching and a super chill environment.
What an experience. We had 6 in our party. We were told because of call-outs & already short staffed 20+min wait. Foood served cold, incorrect. Alcoholic beverages sat so long completely watered down. Service was mediocre at best. Will not be back!
