Decent food and great ambience. Their food is saltier and this is the only restaurant where I felt so. Especially their cauliflower buffalo wings and egg plant bacon were the ones too salty. Like, you can't eat them alone. For a vegan restaurant, they have a well crafted menu which I struggle to find as I am a vegetarian. So, appreciate that.

This place was simply amazing! I Google searched vegan brunch and thankfully tried this place. If I lived in Columbia I would go to this place often. The tofu scramble very tasty. The biscuit and gravy was full of flavor. The potatoes were semi crispy and had nice seasonings. The eggplant bacon was way better than what I've made at home. Yum yum yum

The food was incredible! However, the service was extremely slow and while we were most definitely patient it did take us about 20 minutes or so after they grabbed our finished plates to bring out the check so we were just sitting there with an empty table waiting on the check. If you are in no rush and don’t mind slow service then I definitely recommend it. We ordered a fresh juice (so yummy), an Asian noodle salad, and the Rueben with a side of mac and cheese. As I said, the food was very tasty! Nice atmosphere as well!

Wonderful vegan food! Love the kombucha and pressed juice based cocktails. The tacos were excellent.

I was visiting S.C. when I decided to dine at this eatery; Good Life Cafe on 9/06/2021, I was falsely accused of trying to steal a slice of cake by a white female employee named Madelyn. Another employee took my initial order, not Madelyn. The total bill including the cake was $38.14. Madelyn, was the employee who delivered the partial order to me. When I asked about the slice of cake Madelyn accused me of trying to steal the cake, by loudly stating ,"YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR CAKE". I presented my receipt to Madelyn, showing that the $8.95 slice of cake was in fact paid for. Madelyn, did not apologize, but proceeded to walk off and delegate the task to another employee to get the cake. I immediately requested a refund based on the poor service I was receiving. Madelyn denied me a refund, and continued to escalate the issue. I felt very scared and unsure of what might happen to me so, I called 911. The police arrived and the Sgt. requested that Good Life Cafe provide me a full refund, which, at that time they finally agreed to do and banned me from the eatery. My total bill was ($38.14), I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS! They are not properly trained in diversity or human nature. BEWARE CAREFUL EATING AT GOOD LIFE CAFE.

As a vegan that lives in NYC, I was so excited when a vegan restaurant came to downtown Columbia. I’ve frequented this establishment many times in my visits. For the longest time they were my go to for takeout, but something has changed over the last 5 or 6 months. The food quality has gone down hill. Tonight I got the nachos and the beans were barely cooked. They’re so crunchy I couldn’t eat some of them. The guacamole tastes acidic too. Can’t even try to finish it. Going to try to eat the mushroom nori that I got for tomorrow’s lunch. Hopefully it’s better. Probably going back to mostly cooking from home when I’m in Columbia. So sad.

Super bummed to have had such a bad experience here. This was a stop on our way through town, and I chose it based on the menu and reviews.I ordered the Harmony Bowl with no cheese and dressing on the side - at 1:10.Was later told the kitchen had to make more quinoa so I ordered Spring Rolls to share and tide us over. The other two meals were brought out, but nothing I had ordered. A few minutes later the spring rolls arrived. At 2:00 I looked at a menu and saw they had brown rice, so tracked our server down and asked if they could just use that instead, or if not could I get something, anything else? Ten minutes later the Harmony Bowl with rice was brought out heaping with cheese and dressing ??‍♀️ Asked the server and she apologized and asked if I wanted to have it remade. No!! So I passed on the drenched kale, ate some beans and sweet potatoes and passed on most of the rice (huge portion of rice.)The server was very apologetic, but the bummer is that it got to that point. Obviously I should have asked how long it would be from the beginning, but since quinoa takes 15 mins to cook, I didn’t think to. Why the option of a sub wasn’t brought up is weird. And why an update as to an ETA was never conveyed was weird. And then to be charged for the meal, also weird. The two others with me had better experiences. Overall things were too greasy for me. If I had known, I would’ve asked for something else. The kale looked to be massaged in oil before the dressing. And the rice and beans were pretty salty. But the spring roll was great!I try to support vegan places, and hate leaving bad reviews as I want to see them thrive. But hopefully my experience can be used to help.

Great experience! The service was top notch. They have a lot of grab and go items available in the cooler. The girl who took my order was very knowledgeable and helped me to make my decision. The grits and sausage are vegan and delicious. I crumbled the sausage and put it in my grits and they were perfect. The overnight oats with Chia seeds and blueberries we're just plain outstanding. Everything is delicious and fresh. You don't have to be vegan or even vegetarian to get full on this delicious food. The bread is amazing!

I am a carnivore at heart but I will eat vegetarian or vegan if it is good. The Good Life Cafe on Main Street in downtown Columbia is really good! This is the Stuffed Portobello Mushroom (marinated portobello mushroom stuffed with house-made pesto, topped with cashew cream cheese and parmesan) and the vegan mac and cheese as the side. ($14)The mushroom was meaty and delicious, and the pesto stuffing was smooth and full of flavor. And how do they make cashews taste just like cream cheese?!? So good! I would however get a different side next time as the mac and cheese was not cheesy enough and a little oily.I have had their soups and tacos before (both were great) so they are very consistent in quality and in service. If you prefer/need/want vegetarian or vegan, this is the place to go. If you have never had vegetarian or vegan, this is the place to try it!

I'm not vegan but love trying new things and wanted something different for dinner. I found this place through DoorDash, and everything on the menu looked good. I ordered the spinach and artichoke quesadilla with eggplant bacon and OH. MY. GOODNESS. It's SO GOOD. I'm sold on vegan food--at least their vegan food--and I'd give this place 10 stars if I could!
