Newly relocated to the Columbia area, I was out exploring the scene for a drink and bite to eat. I happened upon Gervais and Vine in passing and figure it would be a good opportunity to try out a new spot and gamble on getting my fix of both for the night. It proved to be a great choice as I had an extremely enjoyable evening orchestrated by my waiter Josh and chef Jeff. Both gentlemen were very pleasant, personable and had an apparent passion for their jobs which showed through in the services that were provided. They deserve special recognition. The wine and dishes I tried at Josh’s suggested were all delicious and the vibes in the atmosphere were perfect in distracting my mind from the work day. Coming from Charleston SC, I was nervous about not having an experience that would compare to what I was use to but Gervais and Vine represented Columbia well and made me feel at home in a foreign land. I highly recommend giving them a try. I feel confident that you’ll leave just as impressed.
The covered patio was a relaxing setting, even on a hot summer day. The Costa Brava dip is superb, as were the seared scallops and shrimp gambas. We appreciated the portion size for these being tapas. We also got the quail red beans and rice that was a special that evening. SO GOOD we asked for more red beans and rice. The eggplant fries were the perfect size and highly recommend holding onto the honey yogurt times I dipping sauce that comes with them if your getting scallops or shrimps as another tapa ? The customer service was top tier and the wine list had a great selection at all price points. We will definitely be back!
Found this place while roaming the city and we couldn't be happier that we did. The food was impeccable with the service to match.
Nice lil quiet spot with tapas food. A good place to go first a first date. Decent wine selection (a lil overpriced) but nice atmosphere
I was with a medium sized group. It was pretty busy when we sat at our table. The staff was prompt and after ordering the plates arrived quickly. We tried a large assortment of the dishes and every one was excellent. Well presented and thoroughly enjoyable.
This spot has a marvelous vibe! The atmosphere and subtle decor is relaxing while at the same time inviting and energizing. This was on a Monday night, I can't imagine what a popping crackle lights up the vibe on weekends! The food was exquisite! Seriously, I've had small plate before, and enjoyed them, but the chef makes a tremendous impact on the overall customer satisfaction and whoever is in charge of designing and cooking the menu is really on top of current trends. The staff was fun and pleasant as well. And the wine library! Wow, just wow!
Absolutely!! We had a surprise birthday for 15+ people and the entire staff was so accommodating and gracious?
I gotta say, wait staff couldn't have been better. And our waitress was pretty, so that helps the food to be more appetizing. The flavors were mostly unbelievably good. We ordered practically everything on the menu... least favorite was some sausage thing, but otherwise perfect.
Great experience! Food and drinks were really good. Our server was very nice and polite too! We got to try 3 dishes and we loved all of them.
Overall good experience and place. Wl be back for a quick bite , drinks and appetizers/tapas .. not my favorite for a formal dinner. Good selection of wines.
