My family & I love this place. A Columbia gem. Good portions for the price. $60 for 3 large orders. People are friendly. Good menu, plenty variety. I ordered the shrimp combo- shrimp w/ oxtail. I look forward to coming here everytime I visit SC. Love the flavor, not overseasoned or bland. Check this place out next time you visit Columbia, SC!
My daughter and I order from this restaurant a couple of times per month via Doordash. We are always pleased and happy with our meals. We usually each order the oxtail and curry goat. The portions are large and the food is fresh,, seasoned well, and large enough for two meals. We get the the rice and peas steamed cabbage and they include several pieces of delicious sweet plantains. The D/G bottled sodas are great, we get the pineapple or orange flavor. Seriously, if you want some good food, try this place. You will not be disappointed
I have never had Jamaican food before this visit and the owner here exceeded my expectations. I was greeted by the owner and basically given a rundown of the menu after telling him this was my first time.I ended up getting the jerk chicken and oxtail plate with plantains. The food was delicious; tender meat with a good blend of sweet and spicy. A wonderful experience and next time I am visiting Columbia I will be coming back.
The jerk chicken meal was excellent. Very flavorful. I loved the spices. The pineapple ginger drink was refreshing. The service was very friendly and my food came out quickly. I'll definitely be back.
Just ate here for the first time and it won't be the last. I'm kicking myself in the behind for not coming sooner. The only tip I have is calling ahead is probably best, but the food was worth the wait. In addition, it can be a little on the pricey side, but once again, the food is worth it. Will definitely be returning.
Great splash of Jamaican cuisine that was desperately needed in the Midlands. I'm so glad that SC is starting to get more diverse with their restaurants and food choices. Being a Native New Yorker I must say that is the one thing I missed by moving to South Carolina 10 years ago. Everything doesn't need to be BBQ, Mexican or Soul Food. I'm glad that now SC can taste the islands. The owners are great and they were very attentive to the needs of the customer. Will definitely be back again
Worth the wait! I ordered 30 mins in advance for my food and ordered through their website. It wasn’t ready when I got there since their machine didn’t print out my order but it was in their computer system I was waiting for them to cook the jerk shrimp fresh. No biggie , I don’t like giving small family businesses a hard time. I understood! The guy in the front was so friendly ! My fiancé is ADDICTED to their fruit punch!!! So goood better than koolaid or any store bought fruit punch! I wasn’t too much of a fan of the sweet potato bread at first but it grew on me . It’s a healthy tasty sweet.Okay now for the food ! It was BUSSIN!!! I mean everything was good . I’ve never had jerk shrimp or chicken taste like that and I only sampled it from my fiancé’s plate! He didn’t have anything left on his plates except some fries. Beef patty had a nice kick and tasty ! My oxtails were bomb b and my curry chicken was amazing . Everything was good . The macaroni I had was honestly better than other macaronis I had from some other Carribeans hell soul food restaurants . I’m only giving it 4 star bc of my wait but I understand ! Technology is weird ! Will be returning
The food was amazing! 10/10!
I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the country and Caribbean Including Jamaica. You have to try this place. Went and picked up a to go order smelled so good I never left the parking lot I ate it all In the car. Will probably go back tomorrow. Someone is cooking with love back in that kitchen.
Loved this place, but it's horrible when the really cool guy isn't there. Drive thru line is so stagnant and today I ordered a single side of Mac. After waiting a total of 40 minutes, for a single side, in drive thru and then parking and going in because the mac and cheese was mostly noodles barely cheese and I didn't feel it was worth 5.50. Ended up getting a refund. Really disappointing, this has never ever happened.
