Bernie's chicken is by far the best that I have ever eaten from a restaurant. Cost is still not too bad, however prices are going up. Only thing I have a problem with is the fact that he charges you for using your debit or credit card. On a $8 bill I got charged $0.51 cents for using my credit credit card, very excessive especially since the bank only charges 1 to 3% of the tab back to the business.
Bernie's has a unique tasting fried Chicken it's taste is great as a taste all by itself I say give it a try cuz I believe you'll like it
Very good fried chicken. Inside of restaurant could of been cleaner. Tables we sat at, I had to wipe down myself. Otherwise, all I can say is the chicken ia good. My 15 yr old said it was the best fried chicken he ever had. He doesn't say that ever about any place we ate fried chicken at.
My first time here. Heard a lot of hype about the fried chicken here but I was not impressed. It was served hot but just ok to me. The fries i got were probably the best thing i had but very brown not golden like the pics that drew me to the place! The sweat tea was interesting in taste the day I went. The dining was not a clean as I would like and flies were just kinda everywhere. We tried to eat fast lol. I only finished my fries and roll. Apparently this place has a reputation for great food...it just wasn't for me! Enjoy!
Bernie's was voted one of the Best Fried Chicken restaurants in Columbia. SC. Drove nearly 20 miles (one way) to check it out. Called ahead to place my order and was asked my arrival time. Arrived a few minutes early and it was very busy around 11:15 am. Checked in and a clerk told the kitchen I was there. Another customer arrived around the same time. She received her food within 10 minutes. Apparently your order isn't made until you arrive. Unlike me, nearly 20 minutes passed and no food. I checked in again and the kitchen says they are working on my order. Staff was friendly albeit a bit unorganized. Card machine crashed but customers were not told they needed cash. For the most part the staff was friendly and calm however one clerk made a snide remark about me which she thought I didn't hear. Chicken was good but I've had better in Columbia. If I'm in the area I'll stop in however I won't make a special trip. Bring cash as a back up, just in case. This is more diner than restaurant.
Always crowded ? to me that's saying this is the place to eat?. Staff on point. Acknowledge soon as you enter. Place itself can be tweaked some,but clean. The "FOOD" is over the rainbow awesome!!! Coworkers,and I eat there at least two to three times a week ?"GO"enjoy!!!
Best friend chicken I've ever eaten ANYWHERE! Very busy 11:30-2:00. When placing a takeaway order, add another 10 minutes to the pickup time.* HOMEMADE DESSERTS *Delicious hot dogs & burgers too.
I ate here during the lunch for the first time and loved it. The place was busy but super organized, clean, friendly staff with great customer service, no long wait and the food was hot & fresh with great prices
Busy little spot over by William Brryce Stadium . The chicken was fried just right . The fries & Coldslaw , done how we like it down south . Ice Tea was on point . Friendly staff . What more can you ask for ?
Absolutely, outstanding fried chicken and friendly service. I ordered the three piece special and then had to order three pieces more. I will be going here every time I can when visiting Columbia, SC. If you can only eat one place while in Columbia this is it!!!
