I had the beef Bulgogi bibimbap which was absolutely fantastic! The spicy sauce has the best flavor. Husband had some spicy chicken dish. We both loved it! Got it as takeout and it was packaged very well. It was our favorite spot we tried in Columbia while recently visiting. Nice that it was open Sunday too.
As a lover of Korean food, 929 really delivers in an upscale vibe. Note: seating is limited, do try reserve over the weekend; also, they have happy hour. Their drinks were unique and tasty, usually not a fan of egg whites but theirs are whipped and delicious. You have to try their chicken wings (pictured) - awesome! They hold true to flavors and can make things quite spicy. Oh - the korean pancake desert was a nice end to the meal. I personally loved the vibes and food here, and would recommend!ig: @harshaeats
A friend and I met here for dinner tonight. We were excited to try something new, and the food is really good! The restaurant itself is small but roomy, and has a cool atmosphere. I ordered the beef bulgogi bibimbap, and my friend ordered the beef bulgogi japchae. We also had the nachos as an appetizer, and our entree came super quick! The food is a bit on the pricy side, but you get a lot. We decided to get a takeaway container and then order dessert too. We each had the double chocolate chip cake--amazing! The only thing I didn't care for was our waitress. I felt rushed, and it didn't really seem like she wanted to be there, or maybe it was that she just didn't really care to talk to us. Everyone has a bad day, so maybe that was it. I'm also not a fan of the accessibility of the place. If you have a walker like I do, you're able to get in, but it would be a lot harder with a wheelchair. There's a step leading into the restaurant and not much room to move around. It's possible, though, if you really wanted or needed to. In all, everything was really good--a great combination of flavors, spices, and textures. We both enjoyed ourselves.
There's plenty of amazing Korean restaurants in Columbia. The food is good here, but I think this place caters more towards folks who are looking for an upscale dining experience rather than authentic food. I also think that this restaurant is a more palatable place for people who haven't been introduced to Korean cuisine.. I was surprised that you had to pay for the banchan rather than getting it with your meal- which is something I'm not used to! I don't think I would come back just for the food, but the service is good (with the exemption that most of the staff doesn't wear masks) and the atmosphere is nice. Drinks and dessert were good too.
I’m not sure about this bartender who served us on Friday night. A tall blonde guy had the nastiest attitude towards me for no reason. Literally no reason. If you don’t want to work and provide good service to people that walk in, please go get another job and stop ruining peoples Friday nights. I work hard all week long to have one night out a month and don’t need some bartender to give me an attitude because he’s having some personal issues

Definitely recommend for a modern Korean cuisine! Very chill spot and awesome popular Korean dishes. Their Kalbi sauce is A1!!!
Arrived on a Friday afternoon around 12pm. We found parking very close, there was parking within a 3 minute walk of restaurant, paid $1 to park for 1 hr and 20 minutes (this is necessary if you aren’t a local lol we came an hour away from Augusta and had no idea you have to pay to park around this area). Entering the restaurant, we were told about a 15 minute wait for a table but we could sit at the bar immediately. There was not a soul at the bar but as we sat, it filled up quickly. I’m not sure who the bartender/waiter was but he was a young, Asian man..he was AMAZING, I wish I would have gotten his name. He was attentive and quick, answered all my questions regarding the menu and made a HELL of a drink! We ordered the bulgogi kimchi fries as our appetizer, I would highly recommend these. If you unfamiliar with kimchi, it is a very sour yet spicy fermented cabbage. Mixed with the sweet bulgogi beef and topped with nacho cheese. OMG! So many flavors. Absolutely delicious. For our entrees, my bf ordered the soy garlic chicken wings w truffle fries and I ordered the spicy pork japchae (stretchy clear rice noodles w stir fried meat and veggies). I ordered this at the medium spice and it was perfect. My bf’s soy garlic wings were also very good, flavor was good and they were fried perfectly crispy! Overall, I’d give the food and service a 5 and I would definitely return when in this area. Smaller dining room so I can imagine it may be more of a wait at busier times but I would say this place is worth the wait! Also, I’d say this place is quite affordable. Three cocktails (one a double), one yuzu lemonade, one app and two entrees was only $75.
This was our first experience at a Korean restaurant. Not knowing what to expect, we were very happy with our food. Service was a little slow, but they were short staffed. Atmosphere was pleasant. I will return when in Columbia.
Ambience, customer service, and food were delectable. I only gave 4 stars because they do not offer my favorite Korean soup Yukgaejang. However, I enjoyed the bulgogi bento box with kimchi sides. It consisted of bulgogi, rice, miso soup, and macaroni salad. Bulgogi was sweet, salty, and satisfying and what you would expect. The only issue was the macaroni side was not flavorful but overall experience was that the restaurant was very clean, orderly, good customer service, and great food. Will always return when I come back to visit family.
