Our first time here. We are in Clemson for student orientation. We were looking for fine dining and that is exactly what we found. The staff was incredible!! We will most certainly return!
Forget about the negative reviews you see, there are still some legit managers. I have tried so many managers and I got scammed until I met Mrs Sandra Billy , she's 100% legit and reliable. Excellent service, incredible food!
The best steak I've had in the area, but no-where near what I'd call fine dining. The asparagus and (giant) baby carrots were flavourless; they lacked seasoning but I doubt that would save the day.The steak sauce (au pouvre) was bland, and the steak was nicely cooked, but lacked quality.The service was excellent, we got everything we asked for along with full briefs on the menu. Also an excellent wine recommendation.A reasonable experience but sold as if a premium place.
The food here was good. But this place is way overhyped and overpriced. Some of the steaks were cooked just right, but some were WAY overcooked. The sad part of that is that even though the waitress and the "floor manager" both came by and asked how things were, neither checked or noticed that the individual who ordered a rare steak was served a medium well to well done steak. If you are going to charge that much for a steak, you should be verifying the correctness of the order, not just asking how things are. The tuna was excellent and cooked perfectly. It was by FAR the best meal of the night. Not a place I can recommend, simply based on the cost to reward ratio.
Great restaurant with amazing food. But the staff is better! Our waiter, Liam was so great. He remembered all of the special items on the menu and was super nice! Because of him and how impressed we were, we will definitely be coming back!
My wife and I decided to celebrate our 15 year anniversary with dinner reservations at Rick Erwins in Clemson this year. The Manager Eric and his staff were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to accommodate an allergy and to ensure that everything was perfect and that we felt comfortable. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and made amazing recommendations. If it were possible to give more than 5 stars I most certainly would. Thank you so much for the hospitality and experience. We will definitely be back and will recommend Rick Erwins to everyone we know.
Absolutely amazing food from the Chef. Wine pairing was great and excellently paired with the dishes served. Highly recommend
The service was impeccable.If you are from NYC, do not expect the same calamari you get back at home. The taste was more of a Cajun taste that we did not expect. The mash potatoes (which did not come with your meal) were not that great; they served them with a layer of cheese on top of them. It was not bad, but it was not great either. However , my she crab soup was delicious, and so was my crab cakes. The crab cakes were served over a very small portion of an arugula salad. If you like big portions, this is not the place for you.This is a beautiful place with a wonderful ambiance. Wonderful service.
We went to Rick Erwin's on Saturday night, 2/19/2022 with a group of 12. I cannot say enough about the service, the food, the restaurant, the wine list.... Our waitress Jessica was terrific; very friendly, patient, and had great advice about menu items. I had the venison, my wife had the scallops, lots of people had the filet. Everyone loved it. If you are visiting your child at Clemson, this is the best restaurant I'm aware of. It's a short Uber ride from campus, but well worth it.
