Exceptionally nice waiter. The food was spectacular. My wife had the best shrimp and grits yet. I had a hamburger with brisket. Wonderful. Prices are average. Worth every penny of it.
Have used take out several times, this time the food quality was very subpar, French fries were dark, oily and just plain bed, they need a trip to the local BK to see how it's done. The pulled pork was very very fatty, to where my wife couldn't eat it. The beans and corn bread were the only decent items. Will make the trek to the Spotted Pig next time.
On my first night in Clemson I stopped by PSHOB. What a gem! The servers couldn’t be friendlier. I was warmly greeted as I entered and seated immediately. Within minutes, a fresh dozen (plus) of oysters and an oversized glass of wine was in front of me. Both were delicious. Throughout the meal, my server Valerie was attentive, funny and just plain outstanding. I highly recommend this place to any oyster lover that appreciates quality food and superior service!
In town doing research and dropped by right when they opened. Ordered the shrimp and grits and was told the grits needed just a little longer to cook but it would be worth the wait. Promise made and delivered on. Outstanding meal and atmosphere.
Great food, the pulled pork and brisket are a must try. Server AJ is some of the best service we have had. Real southern cooking!
Oysters were fresh and delish, as was soft shell crab. Our server (and oyster shucker) was a charming young man eager to make his guests happy. Wish they had a few more sparkling wines available. I love a beer with oyster, but I love Champagne more!
I was very excited to find a local place with the menu advertised. However, the Voodoo Oysters came drowning in pimento cheese and overcooked for char-grilled. They were extremely small and not cleaned well, very gritty/sandy. Also, the oyster prices were almost double than the menu advertised on their website. The shrimp and grits were average although a good portion size.
Some of the worst food I’ve ever had. To start off the meal I was served sweet tea with a nat sitting in the ice. I ordered the pork plate with 2 sides. The “pork” I received was 80% fat 20% burnt dry pieces. The Mac n cheese I received can be described as dry eggy noodles with unmelted cheese on top. I wish I was joking people. The baked beans had decent flavor but they were congealed and thick? Very clearly had been sitting in a pan under a heat lamp for some time. Oh and to top it off the meal was $17 not including the tip!!! An absolute joke. I don’t know why anyone would come here with smoking pig right down the road. I understand staffing shortages and things being slow because of that but if the foods inedible, over priced for the quality and the service sucks then it’s just not the place to go. Save your money and time.
We were visiting from out of state and stopped by for lunch. The food was great and the service was very friendly. I messed up and left my credit card after paying. My wife left a Facebook message and was promptly replied to by the owner. He set up to have an employee meet me to retrieve my card before we were to leave town. Above and beyond! Thanks so much!
Disappointed with the pork bbq and collard greens - the pork was dry and collard greens lacked seadoning. The fried okra and shrimp and grits were great though.
