I've only eaten here once but I will be coming back no doubt. We came during Sunday Brunch around 1130 on Memorial Day weekend so the restaurant and the whole area in Daniel Island was relatively empty. Which allowed us to easily get parking across the street (which I've been told is not always the case). Our server was very friendly and did not rush us to order and came back to check on us frequently. I was catching up with some friends I hadn't seen in a while so we were talking more than reading the menu.I ordered the Cantina Breakfast Bowl while both my friends got the Pollo and Waffles (both of these are from the weekend brunch menu). They both said they really enjoyed their meal but I can't really speak to the details. What I can say is that I enjoyed the hell out of my bowl ?The bowl comes with ingredients divided into four quadrants. You have sweet (Roasted?) corn, crispy home fries, black beans and the final quadrant is your choice of rice, mine was cilantro lime. This is topped with two hard fried eggs, crema and some other tasty sauce along with some sliced avacado and pickled onions. The ingredients were all so fresh and delicious and so vegetable forward that it stood well on its on without the need for any additional protein.I'm planning to go back to try something from the regular menu, but I can already tell this is some of the best authentic Mexican food in town. I mean, I love some Tex Mex but I like to switch it up sometimes and this will be my go to.
The design of the restaurant was beautiful and the service was great but unfortunately the food was lack luster. We ordered tacos and our food came out cold. I don’t believe the shrimp in the tacos was grilled as requested. The drinks were good but a little too sweet for my liking.I understand it was a busy Friday night so I would come back and try again on another day.
I will drive from West Ashley to DI for these glorious tacos any day of the week! By far the best Taco spot in Charleston. Not to mention the atmosphere, drinks, and service is awesome. If you are reading this and have not visited Viva you’re missing out. Stop what you’re doing and take a trip to Daniel Island for some amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere.
Delicious fresh food, friendly service and great atmosphere. The artwork in the building was a great addition. Some of the best chorizo tacos, along with perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimp in the enchilada
My first time here was everything for me. The food came fast and was ?. The server was super nice and helpful with the menu whenever I had any questions. Juan one of the employees told me about Viva and I just had to come check it out myself. I'm definitely glad I did. The food was amazing. And the atmosphere was super dope. I'll definitely be back ❤️
I will go back to take pictures. High ceilings with a clean contemporary setting on Daniel Is. Much better Mexican food than most. Reasonably priced and good service. I can't wait to go back.
The good is really good. The service was ok.
Fantastic hand crafted drinks. Food is fabulous
Great assortment of tacos! The tacos were filling. The marg is very tart FYI.
Food not all bad. Just expensive for what you get. The neighborhood Mexican restaurant is better and a better value
