I have been here several times before this visit. Not sure what has happened. I actually had to send my crab cakes back because they tasted spoiled. I have NEVER sent a meal back anywhere. I told the server that the crab was bad. The manager never came to our table to check in on us. We also overheard a large table near us order the crab cakes with our server AFTER I had told her the meat was rancid. The rest of the table said their food was OK. Nothing special.
Food and service was amazing!amazing!! Bathrooms were disgusting. We tried both bathrooms. Seriously, I have visited 7-ELEVENs cleaner. For, toilet, door, sink, Gross!!!!
Ordered the fried chicken diner with slaw and grits. My wife ordered four sides. Overall, this dining experience was worth the visit. I felt the fried chicken could have used a bit more seasoning but all the other dishes were really good. Atmosphere was a little loud because of the restaurant layout but we’re also talking about an old building. I would definitely recommend a visit here. The menu is really southern.
Seated us at the least desirable table tucked in a corner behind the hostess stand, even though better tables appeared to be open...Forgot about one appetizer for a while...Got the other appetizer wrong, and then fixed it...Forgot about one drink order, until reminded...Both entrees were OK, but notably less than expectd based upon reputation and reviews...Initial bill showed up with the incorrect, and more expensive, appetizer listed...Overall - A $100 range dinner that felt more along the lines of $50-$60...Perhaps we just caught them on a "bad day" !
Good food, Good service, Excellant she crab soup.
A completely enjoyable experience! Great location, wonderful service and delicious food!
Brunch reservation- many good looking options on the menu. The country fried steak with eggs was the best a born and raised in South Carolina person in our party has ever had! Also raved about the Lima beans - yes, really! Chicken and waffle was prefect texture and I would get again. Will return to try more good looking items on the menu in the future when we can score a reservation.
What a great first meal in Charleston!! Our server was great recommending items. Fried chicken was great!!!
Server was weeded and it took her 15 minutes from dropping off my drink to take our order. Other than that things were great
Reservations on open table, honored. Seated early. Server accommodating and friendly. Food very good. Small restaurant but quaint. Overall good experience.
