This is a beautiful, open, and bright little restaurant. The food was delicious, but not expensive. Our server, Peter, was incredibly nice and attentive. I would definitely eat here again!

Had lunch at the Palmetto Cafe while on a girl’s trip. You cannot go wrong here. Everything we had to eat was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our waiter Rudy was absolutely amazing. If you crave vegetarian - you absolutely must get the cauliflower steak. The roasted pine nuts, red peppers, tomatoes, and chimichurri topping truly hit the spot. Plus, lunch was light enough that it didn’t weigh us down all day while shopping. Highly recommended!

Beautiful setting, but subpar food and unimpressive service for the price. We were seated and sat 20 minutes without being greeted or brought water. I was told gluten free toast wasn’t available because they hadn’t thawed it from the night before, which was disappointing, and they wouldn’t let me sub fruit for the toast (that they had no option I could eat) and once our food was brought, we were left with empty water glasses and not checked on for the majority of our meal. I likely won’t come back here, overpriced and underwhelmed.

As our culinary tour of Charleston continues we experienced Palmetto Cafe today for brunch. Simply awesome from beginning to end. The cappuccino was the start of a great meal. Then came the acai bowl w fresh berries and nuts on the side. Wow. We were ready to charge the gates! Then the entrees including Rib-eye and eggs, grits and a single blueberry pancake with fresh butter and warm syrup - perfect steak, eggs and pancake! This was among the finest breakfasts I have ever eaten, served warmly and personally and high quality start to finish in a beautiful setting. We will return! Not cheap - but you get what you pay for!

Lovely! Pretty, bright setting. Excellent professional service, not a single missed beat, perfect timing, questions answered, thoughtful recommendations. All the little touches that you've stopped expecting in this age of diminished dining experiences happen here, and then some. Brioche buns and fancy butters were an unexpected treat and a delicious way to start. Soup arrives hot at the table in one of those little heated metal vessels then poured into bowl. Tasting provided even with a glass of wine, also poured at the table. Wine was perfect, well above the usual choices. Food was excellent, mushroom and she crab soup in particular. Salads are very large, even the 1/2 portion is almost too much. The Palmetto Sampler is fun, a great value with a bunch of favorites presented in cute delicious generous mini portions.

Yum, love it! It’s so easy to enjoy breakfast every morning when staying at The Charleston Place. A complete menu, and the staff have always been kind enough to let me order “non-menu” items when I’m feeling them. Great food and attentive staff.

I ordered the shrimp and grits. They were under seasoned and the grits were undercooked. Food was overpriced for what it was. 27 dollars for this dish. I also tried the chicken breast on the lunch menu. The lentils were good, but the chicken was dry and chewy like it was under a warming lamp for a long time. Also the waitor was very handsy touching my back and shoulders everyone he came to our table. I won't visit again.

My husband and I had an excellent breakfast here. The Palmetto Cafe is inside the Charleston Place hotel, which itself was a site to behold strolling through the lobby! I enjoyed my bagel with smoked salmon, and my husband really liked his corned beef omelette. We had hoped to sit in the courtyard but it was too cold. Happily, we were able to take our breakfast drinks into the courtyard after eating to enjoy it briefly before we got too cold. I would have loved to dine outside, though. Maybe you will be lucky enough to be there when it is warm enough... but not too warm. Diners ranged from being very casually dressed to wearing sportcoats.

Phenomenal. I had two lunches there. The she crab soup is quite good, the mushroom soup is exquisite. The grilled beef salad is simply the best salad I have ever eaten anywhere. The seafood club sandwich is a very eclectic offering that was very, very good. It’s presentation was excellent and taste was great. Service was absolutely wonderful. I had the same waiter my second visit and he remembered me by name. That goes a loooooong way
