So good. Massive slices of the best quiche ever. Outstanding matcha iced lattes. Incredible delicious baked goods. They sold out of a sandwich on my order and more than compensated with a replacement and genuine apology. Don't be mislead by a lack of seating in the front. There's lots of seating in the back and a nice outdoor space beyond that. Highly recommended. Will for sure be a place I visit anytime I'm visiting Charleston.
The most PRECIOUS place! The coffee is incredible. My latte was frothed with heaven. My For the Birds pastry could fuel me for a day. The chocolate pistachio square is what dreams are made of. The avocado toast belongs in an art museum. The donuts were too matcha magic to handle…>>see what I did there<< (not gonna lie I thought the matcha was guac at first…#basicproblems). But seriously, Harbinger (and sister cafe Harken) are two of the most special, memorable, nostalgic nooks of wonderful. It’s like all of the best things in a coffee shop combined. It’s so warm and wholesome, you step in the door and feel like you’re in a room of long time friends, the worn walls, exposed brick and beams just creak with history. Just so fantastic I can’t get over it. Do not miss this place!
This place has the best quiche I’ve had in the states. Their food is great… overpriced, but great. It is worth checking out at least once.
The Harbinger is definitely off the beaten path as so kindly described by others- if are walking Charleston, this is a 30 minute bus ride to an area you might not otherwise travel to. To be fair, I arrived 15 minutes before closing but that cannot explain the food. The food looks beautiful, but is kept in an open case, which has to be some of the reason for the quality. I love to support vegan places and was so looking forward to a bakery. I chose a carrot cake like piece that the staff described as very good. I also ordered ice tea, hence the two stars and not one. I asked for a glass of water and was pointed to a box of water to purchase. The cake was awful- it was dry and almost too dry to cut with a fork. I tried several bites as I hoped that it as just on the outside, but no, all the way through. This either did not keep well or was days old. I threw at least half away, drank my tea and left. Truly not worth the trip.
Cold brew was good but I cannot tell you enough about this avocado toast!! It has inspired me at home to bust out my mortar and pestle at home and get creative with my avocado toast! I liked this avocado toast so much that I was one click away from purchasing a hat... But then I checked my bank account .... Thanks for a great visit
Adorable little cafe! Veggie friendly, yummy coffee drinks. Didn't try any pastries but they looked great. The breakfast sandwich was HUGE and DELICIOUS! Easy place to bring a laptop to study or a friend for brunch.
I thought the reviews were too good to be true. We tried multiple items and every bite we had was amazing. Highly recommend. Charlestons hidden gem.
Love LOVE this place! Delicious food, yummy (and unique) desserts, extremely friendly service, and super cute interior. I love that they made me a golden milk, this place is top notch!
This will become one of my favorite spots. It has gluten free bread and pastries! Lots of places to sit and work on a computer if you want. The cappuccino was really good, too.
The most delicious breakfast I have had in forever! The menu is just amazing with interesting and delicious flavors for an alternative breakfast meal. Can hardly wait to eat there again.Thank you!!!
