Service, food itcall was fantastic. The fried green tomatoes were to die for. Hubby had the quail and I had the pork belly. Prompt Service, meal was nice and hot with lots of flavor. Will definitely come back.

Was driving down the road with the kids and wife, windows down... Blasting 80s music, on our way to a restaurant when a smell wafts into the truck and we cut a U turn to find it. There in front of us was the Glass Onion. Great service and AMAZING food! The food was beyond expectation and the price wasn't terrible. Really wish I would have known prior to paying that cash was cheaper, was charged 3% for using a card. Prices were appropriate to the food and services provided, which were excellent. Truly enjoyed the dining experience.

Always loved stopping at DDD places. This one did not disappoint. Had collard greens, red rice, grouper. All good.

Do stop in here early it gets busy very quickly, for a good reason. The selections are low country-blue collar stick to your ribs kind of food. The whisky sauce bread pudding was much to sweet for me. The poor boy bread was nothing special but just a sweat bread. The grits and shrimp were tasty.

Still waiting for service . They say wait to be seated which we did. Eventually we offered to seat ourselves showing which table we’d like. Still waiting for our menu 20 mins later so we left. They weren’t busy. Tables weren’t very clean. Would like to have tried the good but with so many other restaurants we’ll take our money elsewhere.

Our visit was great experience. Nice to sit outside , very friendly staff and of course delicious food. We had crispy Brussels sprouts, pan roast mountain trout, shrimp & grit, the best one I have ever eaten. Don’t miss bread pudding for dessert. Everything was perfect even the collard green. Highly recommend once you are in Charleston.

I have spent my life in the south and have never eaten grits I liked. After years and years trying them every way imaginable I had all but given up. When I arrived at The Glass Onion I told them as much and hoped that they would redeem this southern classic for me. The shrimp and grits they served me were absolutely fantastic! The grits were all of the best things about a great cornbread with an even better gumbo style shrimp and sausage on top. The fried green tomatoes we crunchy and delicious with a phenomenal pimento cheese on top. I would recommend everyone go by and try anything the have on the menu ranging from oyster bites (that were unsurprisingly sold out) to the classic chocolate peanut butter pie.

The shrimp and grits were amazing. The creamy grits put it over the top. Crawfish Remoulade with hoe cakes was an awesome appetizer. Really hate that I missed the bread pudding but that’s ok because now I have to go again ♥️

Delicious southern cookin'. Their bread pudding is a must --- it was AWESOME! The desert alone was worth the trip, but all food was great.

I first saw The Glass Onion on Diners, Drive In's and Dives and was excited to try it out. It is a nice break from the upscale restaurants in Historic Charleston. I have been here twice. Once I got the catfish with red beans and rice and collard greens. It really hit the spot. the second time, I got the porkchop with mashed potatoes and collard greens. The pork chop was a tad bit chewy and that , in addition to the extremely limited parking, is the reason I did not give it 5 stars. I would recommend coming here. I had pretty good luck popping in at 3:00 on a Monday in order to avoid the crowds
