always a good time with lots of talented people! not too mention alcoholic slushies and $4 shots slung by some of the dopest dudes in Charleston for the win. I recommend it to everyone i come in contact with that brings up singing!
Bar has a nice hole in the wall feeling, not upscale in the slightest. Karaoke is now every night and drinks are fairly priced. The bartender told us that the bathrooms and stairwell have had a bit of a makeover and it was noticeable. The drink prices were reasonable, I left fairly tipsy and had a $40 tab. Not bad for a fun night out.
Amazing Sunday night of entertainment! A friend and I were in town for 3 days and just happened to stumble across Bangkok Lounge. We ended up sitting at a table for hours watching everyone sing, having the beat time! We met a guy named Matt and his uncle Kenny(Kennyb) who both were regulars. We couldn't believe how awesome everyone was!! We will definitely be back when we are back in town.
Normally a place I would recommend to anyone, especially from out of town! However, you need to call ahead and see who the KJ is and look at reviews for them. They can be known for an unfair rotation with out cash tips. If a KJ hides the cue that’s a pretty good indicator! We brought a group from out of town at 7pm and not one of us made the rotation until 10 pm with others singing multiple times (we did tip too). Out of 4 of us putting a song in only one of us sang. Also be prepared to be hot!!! Dress accordingly! Drinks are fairly priced, LGBTQIA + friendly is a huge plus!!! I haven’t ever seen a fight and the crowd is typically super fun! Can order food from downstairs!! Again wish the rules were consistent with who host!!
We had an absolute blast watching people sing karaoke and dance. There were all different kinds of people here all having fun together. Such a great experience.
I will never go back to this place. I have never experienced this bad of customer service. After getting our drinks we were immediately told to chug them, yes I understand it was about 1:30am and it was closing soon however we didn’t plan to stay much longer anyways not to mention we weren’t making a scene or being obnoxious. They might as well change the hours to “starts yelling at you to leave @1:30” instead of closes @2. Never go to this place unless you want to get treated terrible. 0/10 recommend
Walked in before closing last night to grab some drinks. One of the workers yelled at my friends and I to “chug the drink” and to “get out” in a very harsh manner immediately after buying. We were told because closing was in 15 minutes. We were yelled at continuously for absolutely no reason while trying to finish our drinks we had just paid for so we could kindly leave.. As a business owner myself the man that was yelling is not the type of employee I would want working in my business. This was very poor customer service and I along with a few other people will not be returning. I am writing this review so that others that consider going to Bangkok Lounge can avoid having a similar experience.
By far my favorite bar in Charleston, Rebecca is an amazing charismatic karaoke host and the guys at the door and bartenders are also extremely friendly and great at their jobs :)

Wow karaoke here is fun, high tech, and the girl who runs it is very high energy. This was our last stop of the night and boy we're glad we did it. Singers get cheered on by the street and everyone here was having a lot of fun. Highly recommend!
