As a Japanese, I truly appreciate Sushi-Wa to offer such high quality sushi in SC. While being based on traditional Japanese style, they create a more sophisticated cuisine in their own creative way, which makes the sushi beyond just being "authentic." Even if this restaurant was located in Tokyo, where we have plenty of choices of excellent sushi restaurants, I would still go to Sushi-Wa.

The Omakase experience is what you would find in NYC or the west coast; quality and presentation. Get a reservation early, as there's very limited seating. As of typing, only $80/pr. I'll be attempting to return every month.
Absolutely amazing experience, if you’ve never been to a true omakase with sushi chefs who know they are doing, you will not find a better deal than $80 per person. Each piece was amazing and Chris was super helpful with sake recommendations. Best sushi in the state of South Carolina.
Amazing omakase. So fresh. We've been to michelin star sushi and this ranks right up there. Delicious. Small seatings so the service is personalized and friendly. Definitely will go back!
My boyfriend and I recently tried the omakase experience. Chris and Kazuyuki are very inviting and talented chefs. They created an unforgettable experience and AMAZING sushi! The wagyu beef is optional but 100% worth it.
Yesterday, I was able to experience Sushi-Wa's omakase dining provided by Chef Kazu and Chef Chris. This was by far the best sushi I have ever had. I recommend this to every sushi enthusiast, they truly offer a sushi experience unlike any other in Charleston.

Just finished an absolutely amazing meal! I enjoyed getting to try so many different types of fish, many of which were flown over from Japan. Everything was perfectly seasoned, and we were full by the end of the meal. The two chefs/owners were very personable and a lot of fun being able to watch them prepare the sushi. Pro Tip: stalk their Instagram for cancellations and check Resy 28 days in advance as that’s when the new reservations are released. Thanks so much for a great meal!
What a perfect evening. I just sat down and consumed a steady stream of perfect bites of food served expertly alongside some truly brilliant sakes. I can’t imagine a more lovely evening out in Charleston. I’m so, so happy that someone else canceled their reservation tonight so I could reap the benefits!
