Great food! True southern bbq! Small place but big character. Our waitress Tina was lovely! It’s for sure a place the locals must love. Live music while we were there. So fun!

It was pretty good! Dad and I got the brisket sandwich, which had a single, large, thick slice of brisket on a bun. It was juicy enough to not need any sauce, though we sampled a few anyways. The waffle fries were excellent. My sister got the Brisket Wrap and really enjoyed that. My mother got the nachos appetizer. The chips were a bit over cooked, but it was good overall. Way more chips than cheese or toppings though, it might need a dip or something to come with it. The server was looking pretty tired when we talked in at 3pm, but she was really nice. She was serving the whole place herself. It had some dine in seating and a bar, and wasn't too loud at 3pm which was nice. They had live music setting up for later if you enjoy live music. The parking looks tight, but keep going to the back and there is more parking on their gravel lot.

All the food was amazing! Wow the brisket, incredible! First time here and I love this place! The drinks, food and everyone that works there made us feel so welcome. Steph, Marlan & Paul you rock!!!! Oh and I forgot the great music! So happy we stopped. Thank you for a fun and memorable evening! Cheers!!!

I had the baby back ribs. 5 for $12. The were dried and like charcoal with more taste in the bone. Less than satisfying.

It was a dark and stormy night. (KIDDING!) Wife was getting a bit antsy about my apparently selfish decision to spend Sunday sitting on the porch with a beer and a book. "Why don't we drive up to Georgetown and check out antique end-tables?" she suggested. "That's a wonderful idea Hon!" I lied, finishing my beer and putting down my copy of "How to Murder Your Wife while Hiking the Rockies or Cruising the Caribbean". So, after what seemed like a day and a half of driving, we arrived in always beautiful Georgetown. Motoring slowly past the fragrant Paper Plant, the ginormous Steel Plant (it's re-opened) and the eye-catching Sewage Treatment Plant, we once again wondered... Who was responsible for the layout of this town? At least it's not Walterboro, SC, another one of those HISTORIC spots that you wish you'd never gotten off the highway to visit, like HISTORIC DENTON MD for those of you from the Eastern Shore. But truth be told, even Greater Charleston is pretty ugly looking in a post-modern/post-industrial sort of way. Anyway, we soon realized, G-TOWN WAS SHUT TIGHTER THAN A DRUM for Memorial Day Weekend. No warning. No signs. No nothing. One of the things you quickly get used to about the Low Country is that many businesses assume you know they'll be closed on a day that they're normally open. We still decided to park and take a walk (to justify the wasted gasoline) feeling like the only couple who didn't get the EVACUATION ORDER as we strolled the desolate streets. Oddly enough, there were handwritten notices posted everywhere mentioning the "AUCTION, BY THE BRIDGE". My imagination ran amuck considering the possibilities...Used Blast Furnaces?...Giant Reams of Printing Paper?...Unused Garden Club signs? We'll never know... Because we tossed Cujo into the Conestoga Wagon and headed back south to the Holy City. The wife unexpectedly and magnanimously suggested we visit RESTAURANT WORLD (Park Circle) for some BBQ at the ever dependable SRS. ACTUAL REVIEW OF STARTS NOW We scored a nice umbrella shaded table outside, so that we could play our favorite people watching game in N. Charleston - SPOT THE NORTHERNER. Our very congenial server, who humorously claimed to "not be a people person" did a terrific job taking care of us and keeping Cujo hydrated. I was elated to learn that Smithwick's (pronounced "Smiddicks" for those of you who drink White Claw and admit it) was on the TAP BEER LIST. My favorite Irish Red Ale, basically a carbonated Guinness Brewing piece of Heaven, if you will. Deciding to go with the server's recommendation, I ordered twelve WINGS with SWEET THAI CHILI sauce (superb) and ROOT RUB, a surprising non-starter; it tasted like a slightly tangy Old Bay. Wife ordered the amazing, SMOKEHOUSE MEDLEY SANDWICH (pork, brisket, slaw) - so good, we ordered another one! Cujo had whatever I slipped him under the table. We decided to double down on the artery hardening by getting sides of MAC & CHEESE and POTATO SALAD. Glad I wore my non-Athletic Cut 501s today! (I don't really own a pair of Athletic Cut anything at my age anymore.) My painfully long-winded review aside, we really enjoy SRS! Not to mention a menu that can be read WITHOUT MY GLASSES!

This place is on top with food, service and atmosphere. It’s like your in your own back yard. Food portions are huge! Ordered a whole rack of ribs and got a whole rack not a supposed portion. Pork belly served in slabs not cubes. Very worth while.

My family and I dined here while traveling back home. We happened to dine on the night they have amateur blues night. The hickory smoked pork and baked beans are delicious. The sauces are great too. The collards are pretty tasty. The sweet tea is just right. The waitress was multitasking but she held it down. I highly recommend this restaurant. (I forgot to take a picture before eating. ?)

First time there. It was great and special. I had Brisket plate w/ 2 sides, baked beans and Collards. Both were good. Their selection of BBQ sauce was a bit different as there were 4 very different sauce tastes from regular to mustard to very thin vinegar I think. All sauces were good to my taste. Wife had Caesar wrap that she liked. We will go again when in the neighborhood. We went on Tuesday night when they had a 3 piece band that were quite ok. This place is special with great vibes. If you are pretentious you won't like it. If your just good people you will appreciate this place. It's worth the visit!! Ya just want to start happily laughing, it's just feel good if you let it. The service was good.

Had them today at work for our weekly food truck. I got the pulled chicken, mac, and baked beans and I've got to say it was very delicious. Chicken was tender and the seasoning was amazing. Mac and cheese was homemade and baked, not out of a box. Only thing I would say I disliked, was the amount of peppers in the baked beans, (im picky with my baked beans) but overall flavor wise, they were delicious also. This plate was $13 so not overpriced, compared to most food trucks and i was able to say i was full afterwards. I grew up on southern food, and I love trying new restaurants when I get the chance, they have earned my business for sure and I'm also putting in a review at my work to make sure they hopefully come back!

My wife and I were back in Charleston after a 2-year pandemic-related hiatus, and after spending several hours walking around the historic area, we drove out to the West Ashley area to our hotel to relax. Looking for a great spot for dinner, TripAdvisor led us here. It looked great in reviews, but we were not prepared for the excellence we encountered. Our server, Heather, was friendly and welcoming as soon as we entered. We had checked out the menu online and knew we wanted to order the "pick one" pork plate with 2 sides: green beans and potato salad. We know that the food is pretty much ready to serve and comes to the table quickly in BBQ joints, but this arrived surprisingly fast. The pork was moist and flavorful, probably the best pork we've had in a while anywhere. We used their dark and sweet BBQ sauce...really great. The sides were elevated, too...the potato salad was not overly creamy and sloppy, and had a little twang. The green beans were really outstanding; so often green beans are too salty, but these were wonderful...with just a little afterburn. And to top it off? We shared a piece of Reese's peanut butter pie. The pie had a chocolate crumb crust with a dense peanut-buttery filling (probably ready-made), was served chilled...and was absolutely delicious. Heather was an amazing server and represents the business very well. She was attentive but not obtrusive, just what we like in a server...and kept the glasses filled. Great job! Again, do NOT miss this place. In a city that has a lot of great BBQ options, this rises to the top!
