We had an amazing dining experience at Sermet's Courtyard on Daniel Island tonight. Our first thought when we were seated in the elegant Courtyard and listened to the soft romantic live music was how beautifully designed the outdoor dining area was...that is until I googled owner/chef Sermet Aslan only to discover he is an internationally acclaimed artist. His passion for art transfers to the gourmet food he prepares and serves and to all the happy staff. Our waitress Rachel was delightful and bartender Danielle with a beautiful smile crafted me the best Martini I ever had. As if we were in a magical land, the customers and staff blended together with Sermet painting the perfect evening of gourmet food from the Roasted beet salad and Beef spring rolls, to the Shrimp Penne. We finished with a Brandy Alexander, Expresso Martini, and Key Lime Pie for dessert.Thank you Sermet for creating Sermet's Courtyard for Daniel Island and the Charleston area. Over the top 5 star service food and ambiance. Reservations absolutely required.
Food - excellent. Service - excellent. Hosting staff - rude! We were taking friends to dinner and after having just paid the check and finishing a conversation we were approached and abruptly told that we needed to leave as the table was needed. The hosting staff needs better training in how to deal with this and probably other situations.
This is a nice place to have a meal with both indoor and outdoor seating. Their menu changes so be sure to check website. You get complementary bread and a sun dried tomato olive oil. We tried both the mozzarella and spring roll appetizers and they were very good. Kids had the penne and added shrimp. I tried the crusted Mahi w/ ravioli special. It was salty and you only got 2 ravioli with it. Wife had the braised short rib with mushroom risotto and that was amazing. Finished with 2 desserts which were good. The wine list is decent. All in all a good meal though the Mahi special was ok it was a very small portion. A side of some sort of vegetable would have made a complete meal also. Price point here is a bit high as well so be prepared. Service was good.
This is THE PLACE I have been looking for since I moved to DI! OUTSTANDING service, atmosphere...more-so the food and very reasonable prices.Loved dining out in the courtyard...made my day and the meal!!
Checked the menu online before going. Several tempting entrees. When we got there, our server told us that one of their specials was swordfish and grits so I ordered that. It was without a doubt the best swordfish that I have ever had! The service was great! Thank you!
Romantic atmosphere and great food! Great date night!
Several visits. First review. From seating to exit, always excellent. Fresh bread and a house olive oil tomato-something made directly from the source of all happiness and bliss. Mussels in Ginger, garlic, lemon-curry cream. Don’t overthink it, but definitely don’t skip it. Gnocchi Bolognese defies being confined to two delicious words. Eggplant ravioli dish is simply sublime. I don’t care if you think eggplant is revolting or just a modern meme vegetable. Order it or just live sadly - your option. Atmosphere in abundance. Worth the trip from [wherever]. Don’t tell them that their wine is a few bucks less than Savi or the service is just as good. Skipped dessert… this time… because Montepulciano.
The atmosphere is so quant and comfortable. The staff was friendly, attentive and just amazing all around. The dipping oil for the bread is so delicious. I just couldn’t get enough of it. We had the spring rolls with the yogurt sauce and it was so flavorful and crispy. For the entree we had the filet and the shrimp pasta. The filet was melt in your mouth tender and the cooked to perfection. The shrimp pasta was a favorite dish also. Can’t wait to come back to Charleston because this is definitely a gem.
Outstanding service, reasonable corkage fee, prices and delicious food! We’ve been before and highly recommend it! One of our favorites.
Unbelievable! We arrive on time for our 6:30 reservation. The table assigned to us was eating dessert and had ordered a fresh round of drinks. So instead of suggesting we have a drink at the bar; we were told to wait in our car until the table opened up. Who asks their guests to do this? The hostess needs customer service training! Her snotty attitude put us off big time. We walked out.
