Overall we had a good experience here. Quentin was an amazing bartender helping up pick out drink, and being attentive. I was surprised the Antipasto doesn't come with a mustard. Had to ask a server for mustard for it and they gave us yellow mustard. The Mozzarella was served very hot, which was nice. Would recommend going here.
Because of its location on Daniel Island (a spot most visitors don't even know exists unless they're tennis buffs or obscure Country Western band fans or they bought homes during the Great Recession), this Italian eatery is inexplicably rarely full, despite outstanding cooking and a low-priced menu. The staff is exceptionally friendly, almost painfully so, as I am most definitely not a people person (ask my wife, in-laws or an IRS auditor named Chip). Their white pizza (my benchmark) is as good as any I've had back home (a blue state with outrageous taxes, but nice beaches and excellent schools). But what truly sets aside this little gem is their amazing Happy Hour! I challenge you to find a better Happy Hour deal, especially in downtown Charleston. How many joints in the Holy City offer a Happy Hour Mon-Fri from 4-7pm? Name one. You can't can you? There's no better way to describe Lidi's Happy Hour than CHEAP and FILLING as opposed to the usual Happy Hours at other joints that give you a dollar off their beers and a tiny plate of something fried and then win a Best of Charleston award. This place is so good, that my wife warned me not to post a review because she's afraid that too many people will find out about it, like the incredible meat specials at a certain butcher in the area whose name I will never divulge except under threat of pre-Executive Order 13491 waterboarding. (Those were the days!) So, if you happen to stop by, say hello to the grumpy Old White Guy sitting at the end of the bar, enjoying his bowl of Gnocchi Bolognese and sitting next to a gorgeous Brunette.
This is a great restaurant with an amazing Happy Hour.Food and drinks are spot on.Dinner also has never disappointed us.Veal Parmigiana one of our favorite dishes.
I visited Ristorante LIDI with friends from Chicago and I was impressed with the food and service! Quentin provided us with friendly and professional service. We are looking forward to our next visit in the near future!
Food was delicious and I loved how nice the hostess was both times we have come. Marisa was very sweet when taking our call and greeting us upon pick up. Will be making this a routine place. Lasagna was spectacular!!
I was in town for a work trip. They had planned to close but the GM or owner was so kind and made sure I had dinner. Superbowl was playing on the TV. The bartender was kind and made sure my wine glass stayed full. Overall a great experience. I look forward to returning one day.
Friendly staff and easy pick up but really quite poor quality Italian food, with high prices adding insult to injury. Not returning despite living right here. We are talking airplane quality food here.
Food was incredible! Great wine list. Very friendly staff. Will definitely be back!
Went there Wednesday evening to check out happy hour! I got my favorite, dirty martini with blue cheese olives. Delicious, makes me another. I had 2 of their appetizers, warm Mediterranean Salad, yummy, and meatball slidersCheck them out!!!
I have always enjoyed LIDI. One of my favorite dishes is veal picata with linguini pasta. I ordered that dish tonight and didn't realize they had changed the pasta to fettuccine. That was my mistake.Disappointed about fettuccine versus linguine. Connor was a fabulous waiter
