Extremely overpriced, very weird taste to the milkshakes. Cost $37 for 3 milkshakes served in a paper cup.
Good ice cream, and great portions. My son got mint chocolate chip and I got a raspberry sorbet .
A welcome stop as you pound the pavements of Charleston on a hot day - a friendly enough ice cream parlour with large dollops of just what you need to stay cool. I went for a tub, which ended up dripping everywhere! Good flavour selection, although Freddo - slightly further along the same road - has more imaginative offerings. So I'd rank this place around the middle.
The ice cream selection is small, but its worth a visit for the homemade ice cream and waffle cones!
Usually Cherry Vanilla is one of my favorite ice cream flavors. This was sweet, but lacking in that nice, tart cherry flavor. Next time I'll order the (tastier) strawberry.

There really was not anything special about Republic Ice Cream. I ordered a small strawberry ice cream and a chocolate milkshake for my husband. Not much flavor in either, especially for the price.
Was horrible!!! Ice cream was fine but 7 bucks for a minuscule cup; was pathetic idk how it is still in business. Im a local and food scene in CHS is normally amazing so assumed if it was open after this long would be to but it sucked tasted like went to Harris Teeter and bought for 3 bucks a gallon. DO NOT GO; GO TO JENIS
Chocolate Milkshake review:Although the milkshake was just blended ice cream and not really a traditional milkshake, the ice cream it was made from was good.
Nice ice cream place on King Street. We stumbled upon this place because some other ice cream places were packed. I ordered a small cup but the server put a few scoops into the small cup so it was actually quite big, awesome. Ice cream tastes are on point, nothing out of this world but solid choice given quantity.
