This place has amazing pizza!! Delicious!! You can order by the slice and they are huge (slice with pepperoni and slice with mushrooms pictured)!! You can choose the topping from a list of different toppings at no extra charge ($5 a slice with one topping of choice). Filled us right up and hit the spot perfectly!! Staff was super friendly and helpful! Our pizza came out within 10 minutes! Will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Charleston!
This place was a last minute stop for my wife, two kids in a stroller and I. We peeled off not expecting much but were BLOWN away by their perfectly cooked calzones! Not a burn on a corner. Dressed in garlic butter and filled with delicious high end ingredients, she got the pepperoni garlic and I got mushroom, hamburger, garlic! We were blown away by the delicious ricotta and garlic flavor. YOU MUST GET YOUR PIZZA CRAVING here!!!
Pie oh my! I'm so mad at myself for not coming here sooner! This place is literally a little slice of New York, from the locale to the actual pizza. They know how to put together a slice. I can't find anything out of whack; from the ingredients to the pizza oven, definitely authentic. Be fore warned: after experiencing Pizzeria di Giovanni, you will have a hard time stomaching anything less... Two thumbs up!EDIT!!!So I returned on 6/18/22 only to be a bit disappointed. All of the things that made this place pop a couple months ago had unfortunately declined. Key/popular ingredients/toppings were 'out', the dining area conditions were less than acceptable and the customer service left much to be desired... Not sure which visit was the fluke but for now it's looking like hit or miss...
I’m in town for my anniversary and my bf grew up in Jersey and New York and he knows good pizza brings it home anytime he find any. He crashed on me tonight and I went looking for a late night snack. I got 2 slices of cheese and I’ve always been the person that orders the kitchen sink on pizza. This pizza needs no fluff. It’s the best pizza I have ever had! The sauce! The cheese! The crust! And 2 slices the size of a medium pizza for 5 bucks each! It’s out of this world! You need this pizza! Don’t walk run to this place! Great vibes too!
I rarely ever leave reviews of restaurants but I felt this place deserved one. I stopped in yesterday while in Charleston for a day trip. The location is great, right across from the open air markets downtown. It’s inside a little alleyway that I think they have decorated super cute. I’m from the North and it literally gave me the vibe that I was back in New York City going to a real traditional pizza place. I was already sold just on the looks of the restaurant. I ordered a $5 slice with pineapple, bacon, and green pepper and expected it to be about the size of a typical large or NY style slice. But no, this thing was bigger than my head! I was able to get 2 meals out of it and for only $5.. how can you complain? It tasted great and the staff were cool and friendly. I unfortunately don’t live in Charleston but I will be back sometime soon and Pizzeria di Giovanni is gonna be one of the first spots I hit when I get there!!
Late in evening went and got a pizza here. Good price and friendly pizza maker! Pizza good too. Would choose again if down near the market.
Ordered 2 slices and they were huge. Their sizes are 18", 24" and 28" - the largest pizza boxes we ever saw. Pizza is very thin and very tasty. Not a fancy place but the pizza was very good. Give it a try. Recommend
What can I say but I am impressed!! I found this place while walking around yesterday and decided to get some pizza. I have never tried their pizza before. Their service is quick and the staff is phenomenal! And a great price! Not to mention the slice of pizza was huge and delicious and fills you up! I will definitely come back here!

Needed something fast so we came back to this place after passing it a few times.....The pizza was fine, closest to true NY pizza we've found in the south. But the dude behind the counter must be allergic to gloves because he did everything with his bare hands.. from grabbing slices, to putting on extra toppings, building pies, handling $ & credit cards & even left a guest at the counter waiting to order to go feed a dog out front pepperoni ! Doubt he washed his hands after that one ...... pizza wasn't good enough to ignore the poor hygiene, prob won't be back ?
