Generally good food, but they have a new woman taking food orders - clueless and unhelpful and rude. She should be fired and replaced as this spoils the customer experience
We ordered take out for 9 of us. My youngest son and I went to pick up a very large order, and only had to wait about 10 minutes past the promised time, which considering the size of the order, distributed among 5 large bags, was not bad at all. We ordered a lot of appetizers, including egg rolls, crab wontons, and curry poppers, which were very tasty. My entree was Pad Thai with beef, which was so large, that I only managed to eat half of it, as delicious as it was, and I plan to finish it for lunch the following day. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, and the accompanying sauces were quite abundant.
I am visiting Charleston and typed "Thai" into my phone. This place was the nearest one to my hotel. I was excited to have some Thai as it's one of my favorite types of ethnic food. As I was walking in, I saw a "carry-out only" sign on the door. I immediately did a 180 and went right by to my car. You can safely seat people these days. I feel like some establishments are using COVID as an excuse so they don't have to hire wait staff. Needless to say, this place won't be getting my business!
Menu was varied, excellent choices. We ordered Egg rolls. They arrived hot, visually pleasing. Tasted wonderful. I ordered the garlic Chicken 3*** hot. Husband ordered the Curry Poppers. He enjoyed them and we shared my garlic chicken. Only thing I can think that could improve my dish. Add an assortment of veggies, not just cabbage and carrots. Service was excellent. Prices Fair
This restaurant was in a recommended list from our nearby Hampton Inn. Food was excellent, staff great but little atmosphere.
We were visiting Charleston and were searching for a place near our hotel, our first night in town. We like Thai food and have had it all around the world--including in Thailand. It is located in a strip mall, but once inside, it is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The staff was welcoming and efficient. Our meals were ample and delicious. They were seasoned to American tastes, but could be ordered spicier, if desired. The prices were very reasonable. We were impressed.
We've tried to find a better Pad Thai - we do like Basil's Pad Thai, but this place is on par with Basil's...We love going there to eat and/or ordering for take out!
This is really a great place to get great Thai. Vegetables are fresh and cooked perfectly (crunchy, not overcooked). Entrees have a nice level of spiciness but not overwhelming. Plentiful servings and reasonable prices. Interior decor is inviting and service is very nice. Recommended, for sure.
I met my 'daughter' for lunch, we picked Thai and decided to come to Taste of Thai. We ordered shrimp fresh basil rolls for an appetizer. I picked chicken green curry (hot) and she ordered the Papaya Shrimp Salad (hot). The basil rolls came out pretty quick; they were really sticky feeling, which threw us both off, but they were still tasty. My green curry was flavorful, not as hot as I expected, but it was still good. It had more bamboo shoots than eggplant and the eggplant pieces were either really mushy or hard, so that was disappointing. My stepdaughter said her salad was good and tasty. If I'm in the area, I would probably give it another try.
We had a great dinner here several months ago. It was rather a slow night, so I am not sure if it was "characteristic" of a normal evening's business. Still, the food was absolutely delicious, service was pretty good, and the bill was very reasonable. Highly recommend the Pad Thai, and the Noodles and Salad.
