We ordered the fish soup which was unfortunately too spicy for us. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and shrimp fried noodles as well. Unfortunately the chicken had some chicken cartilage pieces which was not very delicious and had some very chewy pieces. The shrimp fried noodles were great! The service was alright and we needed to stand up and pay at the front desk as the server did not check up on us although it was not crowded.

Mapo Tofu is hella good! Authentic Chinese food! Definitely recommend checking this restaurant out!

Completely out of control delicious. Been over 6x now with friends and family and it’s always a wonderful experience. One of the most important and too often overlooked gems in Charleston. There’s a reason our local top chefs eat here on the regular. It’s not about hype, style, or anything other than serving large, shareable platters and bowls of remarkably flavorful, authentic takes on “classics” and more adventurous fare. Highly recommend squirrel fish, oyster pancakes, beef hot and sour soup, mapo tofu, dumplings, cauliflower… whatever it’s all great. Go with friends and loved ones for a memorable, affordable feast. We’re frankly lucky to have this place. Support it!

I am so happy I tried this place. It is really really good. I have gotten takeout twice. Both times I got the dumplings, which are incredible. They give you six I believe, which is basically a full meal on its own. The first time I ordered here, I got shrimp lo mein, and the second time I got shrimp fried rice. Both were great. They give you a lot of food; the takeout container is filled all the way up and it's enough for two meals for me.They included sauce, which may have been for the dumplings, but it looked spicy so I didn't try it lol. They also included some sides; one was similar to bamboo shoots soaked in maybe soy sauce and the other was similar to zucchini, again soaked in a sauce.I agree with others in that this restaurant seems to be very authentic. They have a lot of variety and some dishes you won't find at other places. Their hours are great; I think the first time I ordered was New Year's and they were open when other restaurants were not. The prices are average, not expensive but not cheap. It's worth it.I will most certainly be back for more dumplings especially.

Authentic Chinese dishes! I am so happy to find this place! Everything is delicious and make me miss China so much! Dong Po meat is on the spot! Very friendly service! Will come often.

By far the best Chinese in Charleston. Everything has been amazing. Do yourself a favor and get the dumpling soup. The hot and sour soup blows every other version away and comes with tons of additions. Portions are extremely generous too.

We found this place in a pinch since most restaurants are closed during Christmas, but this place doesn't disappoint. To be honest I am very surprised to find this authentic Chinese food in Charleston. The menu contains quite a selection of authentic Chinese dishes, with General Tsao type of westernized Chinese food in the back. We ordered a "squirrel" fish and an eggplant dish, which are both very traditional. The eggplant dish is very well cooked, albeit slightly on the sweeter side than I had in mind. It would be nicer if they put some ground meat in it. The "squirrel" fish was not done right. "Squirrel" fish is a deep fried fish with sweet sauces glazed outside. The outer shell should be crunchy. But this one was mostly soggy and very greasy. I don't think it was done properly. Room for improvement. But overall I do like the food and I am very happy to find this place in Charleston. Highly recommend to people who wants to try real authentic Chinese food.

Hands down best Chinese food in Charleston. Really authentic and flavourful. If you like the numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns I highly recommend their mapo tofu. Also the chicken egg roll is a must.

I moved to Charleston in 2019 & I have now eaten at Li’s 3 times. Hands down this is the best Chinese that Charleston has to offer. Their Chili Chicken, Yuxiang pork, are just mouth watering. Love it!

Casual, not fancy venue at all. Nice looking menu with photos of most dishes. I ordered what I would describe as stir fry chicken. The food came to my table promptly, but looked nothing like the picture in the menu. Okay, not a problem. Took my first bite and the food had hard crunchy granules in it, like sand. My next bite from another area of the dish didn’t have the crunchy granules, but it was very salty. I was now wondering what the crunchy granules were and was becoming concerned about eating more. I took about 2 or 3 more bites from different parts of the plate and the food was so salty that I knew I couldn’t take one more bite. Within 2 minutes of being served, I got up and went to pay my bill. My server was near the register and asked if everything was okay. I said that I couldn’t eat any more because it was so salty. They offered to serve me something else, but I was so leery of any food and/or the chef that I declined their offer. They did not charge me for my meal, but I gave my server $3 tip. When I got outside, the salt in my mouth was burning my tongue and I spit several times on the way to my car. I drove a few blocks away and ordered a sandwich from another restaurant. There I had several glasses of water, but still the sandwich was ruined because of my burning tongue and salty taste in my mouth. It’s now 5 hours later and my tongue is irritated and still slightly burning. I’ve never seen anything like this. I don’t think that even the world’s worst chef could screw up a chicken stir fry dish as bad as this place did. Never again!
