We like to try to find restaurants frequented by locals when we travel & we found it in Mondo’s. Do yourself a favor and take a little drive out of downtown. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed! If you’re just looking for fancy atmosphere, this is not your place. If you’re looking for great Italian food, it is your place! Todd was our server & he was excellent! They don’t take reservations, so plan accordingly. There is usually a wait, but there is a bar outside. We loved it & will definitely be back!
Wow, we went there on a Saturday evening. Very good attendance however our wait time was only 10 -15 minutes. Todd was our server, very professional. We had capricee as an appetizer. I had the grilled chicken and linguini sauteed in oil, onions, garlic and tomatoes. It was wonderful. My wife had the chicken cutlet with gnocchi.Reasonably priced many dishes below $20.Very authentic Italian cooking. You should give it a try.Pictures to follow.
This is a great restaurant for many locals. The menu is varied and full of flavor. Many fresh seafood dishes with risotto. The Caesar salad is wonderful. Excellent service. You will not be disappointed. Cannolis are amazing too!! .
Last night was my first time at Mondo's and the food was AMAZING! I got the Pesto Penne dish off the "light fares" section of the menu and now I have a pre-made dinner for two more days! The pasta was perfect and the sauce was delicious. One negative thing that can't really be fixed by the owners is that it gets quite loud inside a small restaurant. It was only half full inside yet we were struggling to hear each other at our own table. Other than this its a delicious restaurant and the serving/host staff were incredibly friendly and outgoing!
This was our first time at Mondo’s and boy were we satisfied. The food was absolutely fabulous! We started with the caprese app, with their bread then my husband had the Italian sausage lasagna with a meatball and I had the manicotti with blackened chicken then we finished it off with tiramisu for dessert. We are so happy with our choices and our waiter was a big help, thank you Jacob! We will be back!
Relaxing place. Great people and excellent food. One of our favorites!!
We went there last night but the wait was too long so we left. We had read about the food and wanted to try it, we came in from out of town for a few days. We ordered takeout today which I went and picked up. The food was awesome! Fresh pasta was to die for. Had the rigatoni with sweet sausage with a couple of meatballs, was terrific. Wife had chicken piccatta, sister in law had chicken in a carbonara type sauce with pasta was delicious. Bread was awesome. Definitely will be returning. We wanted to eat in but settled for takeout, it did not disappoint.
They have the best sauce I have ever had. I live in New Jersey, I wish I could get the recipe since I don’t get down that often. The bread is out of site and the service was excellent. Best Italian by far.
Dined in Oct. 2021. Restaurant was dirty, food was awful, staff was rude and the “chef/owner” (the word “chef” being used facetiously), Chris, is probably the most classlessness and inarticulate restaurant owner that I’ve ever encountered.
Our first visit. Yes, it’s true, you can get great Italian food in a strip mall. Don’t let the lack of a trendy address keep you from having a fine meal. It’s heavy on pasta dishes and light on both seafood and meat entrees, but the pasta is well prepared and simply delicious. Go and enjoy.
