They all operate like a team and make it happen. You can tell a good place by the way the workers operate. We love Martin’s BBQ. Our family eats here two times a week usually. The whole hog pork, brisket, burgers, wings, chicken, country salads, stuffed baked potatoes, wow! You can’t go wrong with any of it! It’s all delicious. Friendly folks, great food, good portions, & prices.
Martin’s JI has the best ribs in Charleston HANDS DOWN every single time. Always on. Meat butter. Born and raised Charleston, everywhere else is a hype joke. You’re welcome.
Staff is fantastic and so very friendly!! Atmosphere was so cool and love the old time country music. We shared the Food around the table, I could t find anything I wouldn’t try again. Loved the corn bread cake. Everything was out of this world Yummy!!
Great BBQ, atmosphere, and service. One of the best, if not the best BBQ joints, in Charleston I’ve been to. Pro tip try the Cornbread Hoecake for a really unique and wonderfully surprising side.
Yummy. My dog, Maggie liked it too. She especially liked the eco-friendly waxed cups and use of paper instead of plastic. I liked the hush puppies, slaw, and Mac and cheese--good vegetarian options.
Get the smoked brisket sandwich, some of the most tender brisket I’ve ever had!
This was the first time that my wife and I have eaten at Martin’s, although our son who came with us, had eaten there before and recommended it. Both my wife and sin ordered the dry rub ribs, and raved about how tender they were and came right off the bone. Since I am not a ribs fan, I wanted the brisket and was disappointed that they were out of it. So I ordered the smoked turkey, which I did enjoy. My other issue was that they did not have the wine that I ordered, and I had to select an alternate, which I did. Although it was slightly lower in price, no check adjustment was made. Overall, it was a very good eating experience, with very large portions, but next time, I hope that they have brisket available. Although the parking lot was quite full, we ate inside, which was fairly empty.
Amazing BBQ in James Island! Had a wonderful meal at the bar and then booked the catering for our son’s wedding rehearsal. Hannah made everything so easy for us! Customer service was above and beyond! Setup was easy, food was outstanding, everyone raved and ate a ton which made cleanup easy. Thank you so much!! ?
Delicious! Our table ordered brisket, turkey, and pulled pork. With sides of hush puppies, fries, Mac & cheese and beans. Everything was perfectly delicious!
