A few years ago, a guy working at my ministry offered me some of the philly cheese steak sandwich he grabbed for lunch.“Mmm,” I said. “Where’d you get this?”“I can’t tell you that,” he said. “So you’ll go out on a date with me to get another one.”2 years later, my 97-year-old client had a hankering for philly cheese steak. I hunted down reviews for the best sandwich I could find on JI.It was the same one! The guy confirmed it when I bumped into him awhile later.2 people who don’t eat a whole lot can easily share one of these (it comes with 2 separately-wrapped sandwiches, plus usually lots of really good fries).They’re also half price on Tuesdays.My client and I like ours without the veggies mixed in.This is the only thing I’ve tried thus far, but I’m giving this great review because they’re always fast and delicious, and the best. ❤️Looking forward to trying other things here! It has been quite a few years since I have been to Lowdown. I have to say that the food has gotten much better! Had the Blue Cheese burger and it was amazing, will definitely be back.
Wish I could rate higher based on food and service alone, because the food was amazing and service was great! But the restaurant smelled like smoke and the outside area where we ate was pretty dirty and the chairs were literally falling apart. The corn bread appetizer was one of the best things I've ever had just wish the place was nicer.
Hopped in here after a day working in the sun. It's not fancy, so I felt appropriate walking in in my work clothes. There's a large outdoor patio area. The inside feels like you're practically outside because it's so open. Plenty of TV's outdoors too. Their pizza was packed with cheese and toppings. Also, if your meal comes with a side, order the pasta salad! It's delicious, you won't regret it.
Thursday 1/2 priced burgers draw a hungry crowd, but don’t miss Tuesday 1/2 priced cheesesteaks & $4 drafts, or Wednesday 1/2 priced pizza & wine. AND $1.75 Budweiser cans anytime. Locally owned, with a helpful staff. Good food, cold beer, TV’s all over. Eat inside or out, Just leave some for the rest of us.
We enjoyed it. Food was good and nice portions...I don't think you can get a dozen wings for 12 bucks anywhere else in America right now, other than this place.
We had 4 burgers. They were awesome prices were great. Server was so nice and quick. Will be back soon.
Food is great and the weekly deals are awesome!! Pizza and burgers are amazing. Drink prices are good.If they ever take the weekly specials away I will move away from James island or protest. This place is our favorite on the island.
My husband and I have lived on JI for years now and for whatever reason, just got around to trying out this place. It is one of the best pizzas we have ever tried. My husband always orders the wings and loves them as well. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.
