Great atmosphere, nice outdoor seating area, and excellent service. When greeted by our waitress, we were informed Little Jack's is best known for their Tavern burger which had won awards in 2017, we had found the restaurant by Googling "Best burger in Charleston", so we came with high expectations. We must agree that this is the best burger in Charleston as it is the best burger we've had anywhere! The garlic fries upgrade was also absolutely worth it! One of our party ordered the surf and turf which is a tavern burger and a shrimp burger, the shrimp burger was...interesting.Definitely recommend adding this restaurant to your must visit list and you will not be disappointed with the tavern burger.
We had lunch at Little Jack's Tavern because they were to serve the best burger in Charleston. The burgers were small but very delicious! Their French fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside...really good! We shared Oyster Rockefeller as an appetizer. The crispy coating was delicious! It's a little pricey but we will definitely be back.
Little Jack’s feels like it got transported to Charleston from Boston or Philadelphia. It’s warm and comfortable and the staff welcoming. The Corpse Reviver #2 and the Brown Derby cocktails were quite good. Their hamburger specialty was very good. My only complaint is small but bothersome. My wife asked them to drop the cheese but put on some extra grilled onions. Charging for the onions was a bit of an insult—and cost Little Jack’s a star.
Definitely a tavern....with great food. They had the burger and I had crab cakes.Take time to visit...you won't regret it.
We went to Little Jack’s Tavern for a date night while out of town. There was a $50 hold charge for a reservation on a Thursday night, which was a little odd to me, but we did have to make the reservations in advance to get in, and we’ve heard that Little Jack’s Tavern is hard to get into at times. We ordered two drinks, a Brown Derby and a Bee’s Knees. Both tasted great and we would recommend them. For appetizers, we ordered the Crab cake and the Shrimp cocktail. The crab cake was amazing, and the tavern sauce that it came with was tasty, like a mayo ketchup aioli. The shrimp in the Shrimp Cocktail were big and the cocktail sauce was mild but robust in flavor. I’d definitely recommend. For mains, we ordered the Surf and Turf, and the Tavern burger. The Surf and Turf came with a Tavern burger and a Shrimp burger, which I’ve never had before, but would highly recommend to those that enjoy shrimp. It was delicious. The fries on the side were a garlic and herb fry with more herbs than garlic, but were crispy and served with the tavern sauce to dip in. The tavern burger was served in the same sesame seed bun as the shrimp burger, which was nice and soft with lots of sesame seeds. The tavern sauce on the burger is quite enjoyable. I would agree with others that the burgers are quite small, but they are quite tasty. You should be the judge of whether they are worth it or not; I thought they were. Our total came out to $140, with the tip.Overall, I would recommend Little Jack’s Tavern to those looking for an upscale casual place to dine in the Charleston area.
Ended up here after looking for another place, and we were happy to enter this establishment...The decor is nice with all the boxing memorabilia...The hostess greeted us quickly and friendly and our server Plutarca was nice explaining the menu and recommending optionsWe went for the Shrimp burger and The Surf and turf burger, both were delicious and now we know why this place is famous for its burger. It was an overall great experience even with the music being a little too loud...
I would give the atmosphere a 5 and our server Sean a 5, but the food was nothing special. None of us understood why people are reading these the best burgers, because we all honestly thought that the brussels sprouts on the salad were way better than the burgers.
Great cozy bar and restaurant. Short menu, but the food is phenomenal. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts and the shrimp burger. Cocktails are always well done. A large bar to sit at (no TVs) or comfortable booths and tables throughout. Has a sizable outdoor space now as well.
I get why so many people love this place but frankly paying $16 bucks for a Jr Hamburger takes some getting used to. The service, atmosphere, presentation, and decor all exceeded my expectations. Would have gotten more stars had it not been for the server showing up at our table with a shirt that clearly needed to be laundered weeks ago. Can only wonder what the back of the house looks like when this is the acceptable standard for the front.
Good food, service great. Went without reservations and were told 1.5 hour wait even though many tables were empty. Sat at bar instead and had a great time. Burger was small but incredible - would have it again!
