I love this spot, I have been going about once every 2 weeks for a couple months now! I have tried the sandwiches which are tasty but recently I tried the chef salad and it was huge!! It is spinach and not iceberg so just be warned on that but I absolutely loved every minute of my meal!

SkyMarket delivery for lunch. Ladles is the best place in town for catering. Highly recommend for a corporate lunch!

Soup is good, prices are fair. Service could be better. Young redhead girl with arm tattoos will get an attitude if you ask a question and roll her eyes.

My wife and I absolutely love the Shrimp & Grits!! Best in the City! Limited availability, every other Wednesday. You want to get in early, so as not to miss out. Also, the staff is terrific and so helpful. The atmosphere is great and very comfortable and clean. There are wonderful soups, sandwiches, etc. on the menu and everything is prepared lovingly. Thank you for providing Charleston with your hospitality!

I placed a quick order to go for my husband who wanted a grilled cheese and tomato soup right before closing. I ordered a Greek salad and tried their Italian wedding soup. Very good! They were very kind in responding so quickly. Their menu looked great!

The cold cucumber soup is to die for and the veggie sandwich on rye does not disappoint. Trying new places is scary but I am so happy with my decision making today.

Best soups! If you are looking for a pinkies up kind of place, you won’t find it here! Just a great sandwich and soups shop in a really cool space with counter service. Will be visiting again soon!

My wife and I love this place! Some of the best soup you’ll find. Very fair prices for a downtown Charleston location.

I really love ladles and it one of my favorite places to get food from. Up until today I would have left a 5 star review, but I am highly disappointed in the customer service. I placed an order online for pick up and the instructions on the website said to pick the order up off the pick up counter. Therefore, when I went in to pick up the order, I proceeded to the online order pick up and found the bag with my name on it. After I grabbed my bag, the female employee, who I believe is the manager (based on other reviews I have seen with similar experiences) came up to me and my friend and began yelling at us in front of other customers and said that its against the rules and that they have to hand out their food because people have stolen food in the past. This rule makes sense and I understand why it would be in place, but the website still implies that the customer can pick it off the counter themselves and I felt we were treated with disrespect and publicly embarrassed in front of other customers. Also, there was a much better way for her to have handled this situation. I did enjoy my soup and my sandwich, but I now feel uncomfortable going back to the store and I don't know if I will return. I encourage a sign to be placed on the pick up counter stating this rule, and that the website should be updated. I also encourage approaching situations like this in a more respectful manner.

I ordered through Uber eats. I asked for extra captain wafer crackers with my soup order (which was $20 mind you). I got in the shower and when I got out I had a voicemail from a “Carroll” frantically asking me to call back so they could have a card to charge for 15 cents per cracker. When I got out of shower and called back my order had already gone out……Without crackers. These are captain wafers we are talking about. Really left a terrible impression and will be the last time I ever do business with this establishment.
