Went with my family and shared the meals. Ordered vegetarian and chicken dumplings which were soo good! Then ordered a vegetarian dish and 2 meat dishes to share. All the dishes were delicious, and the vegetables were prepared very well, the best we've tasted. Service was great. We enjoyed our time.

If you enjoy Sichuan food then this is the place to be at… you will enjoy a peppery tingling on your tongue after every bite and enjoy the spicy curry of each dish which is unique. The appetisers quantity is resent enough and the food quantity of the main course is quite good. It does come with curry and you can always order for an extra rice. It has a bar and a common toilet as well.

I don’t think I can recommend this place for many of you folks out there. Like most of you, we checked out the photos and reviews from other patrons. We decided to give it a try. First, they really frown upon walk-ins without a reservation. They put us out in the patio. The lighting was not good. Mosquitos were bitting that night. I can’t say how awesome the place is because we weren’t in it.Most of the entrees average around $20. What kind of Chinese restaurant charges you $3 for a small bowl of rice. We ordered several dishes and with tax and tip, the bill came out to $85. The beef dish was really oily. We barely got any pork belly in the hot pot dish. I will pay for great Chinese food, but this failed to meet our expectation. The food was not delicious and really overpriced for what you are getting.

This place is fantastic. Yes, the food lean’s spicy. That’s it’s thing. If you aren’t into a little spice then you probably will just enjoy the great cocktails. If you love a little heat (of various degrees) this place is amazing. The marinated cucumbers (spicy) and green beans(not spicy) are crave worthy. As are their many other dishes. We must go here at least once a month. Service is friendly and knowledgeable of the menu too.

Best damn Chinese in the city - spicy but flavorful, great atmosphere, great staff, the owners are always friendly, post up at the bar or even outside with a cold adult beverage

Before coming here, I had never had any Szechuan cuisine. However, I've always loved spicy foods, especially spicy foods that linger until the next morning, leaving you unsure if they will ever leave your taste buds. The food here is not authentic Chinese food, in that it is not made by Chinese people. What it is, is locally sourced food in the style of the Szechuan cuisine, with ingredients that you cannot find in Charleston providing a unique flavor. It is as close to authentic Szechuan cuisine as you're going to get from non-Chinese people. It is incredibly respectful to the culture, and it is incredibly delicious. The food is meant to be shared family style, rather than everybody ordering their own dish, which makes this restaurant an experience as much as it is a meal. It's a great place to go to bond with your family, to hang out with their friends, to meet up with colleagues that you'd like to know better. As long as they can handle an insane amount of spice. The heat is unmatched, and it's honestly the best part of the whole thing.A quick note, the menu is always changing. Some things are pretty constant, others are constantly different. My favorite dish that they offer, laziji, has gone through a number of adjustments since I first ate here, and it has been better every time that I've come. Just when I think they've made it as good as it can possibly be, it gets even better. If spicy food isn't really your wheelhouse, stay away, stay far, far away. If you're willing to give it a shot, be prepared to have your tongue burned off. In the best way possible.

We came to Kwei Fei for the first meal of our vacation, and I cannot believe how fortunate we were to make this stop #1. First, the food - dear god. I've eaten a lot of Sichuan cuisine (admittedly, never from the actual province itself) but this was something else. The balance of flavor, heat, and numbing peppercorn was perfect... do yourself a favor and order the Suan La Fen and some Dry Fried Green Beans. And have some tissues handy. Second, the staff - right off the bat I could tell that everyone there *loved* their food. You could see it in their eyes when they talked about it, and sure enough we had a wonderful conversation starting with the dishes and then on to other places they would recommend in Charleston for the uninitiated. If these places are anything like Kwei Fei then I'm sure we are in for something special. This place absolutely crushes and you need to treat yourself to this gem.

Not your typical Chinese restaurant, be warned if you are expecting kung pao, you would be hugely disappointed. Dishes are spicy for sure. But are weird. Our server was super nice though, took off charges for the dish we couldn’t handle.

The food, the staff, and the ambiance at this restaurant are top notch. Every time we go here, the food absolutely blows us away. The staff are attentive, and really give you great suggestions, because the flavors the chefs work with are totally unique. I almost don't want to give it such a high rating to keep it hidden, but you can't keep a place this good a secret.

Unbeatable!!!We love visiting Kwei Fei. The flavor, spice, & atmosphere are all unbeatable. We enjoyed the fishball curry, crescent dumplings, Mongolian beef, pork lo mein, & Sichuan sundae (all w/ extra chili crunch, of course☺️). The porch is a lovely place to sit! I highly recommend Kwei Fei!- @tastetravelz
