Wonderful food and waiter!!! Our favorite place to eat in Charleston ❤️
Everyone was so kind and thoughtful from the moment we walked into the door until we left the restaurant. The food was 5 star. We will return!
Amazing restaurant!!! Everything we had was delicious!! From the Fried Scallops & Shrimp to the Hushpuppies, everything was wonderful!! Excellent service as well!! Will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!♥️
We visited Hank’s while on a cruise stop in Charleston based on its excellent reviews and we were rewarded with a wonderful experience. Tremendous food. Great service. The she crab soup and fried seafood were the highlights.
The food at Hank’s is amazingly good. We began with a selection of fresh oysters - delicious. I had Seafood a la Wanda and I’m afraid if I came back to Hank’s, I’d have to have it again. Too good! In fact, it was so good we’re likely to come back to Hank’s just for it. My wife had flounder, which was also good. The desserts were excellent, particularly the pecan pie. Service? Well, they took care of everything but it was fake-y and obsequious. The room (one large room) is boisterously loud. We really couldn’t hear each other across the table. But the food made it so worthwhile! Wine list is medium length and well chosen for fish.
Visiting Charleston for the first time. Many restaurants to pick from and very good. Hank's is a good seafood selection. Definitely an older crowd, 50-60+ avg age. Started w lump crab cakes. So good and moist. Easily a fav of mine. Husband had GRILLED OYSTERwith Red Wine Mignonette Gastrique, Crispy Andouille and Arugula. He loved it. For dinner I had the shirmp and grits. Different prep. Came in a mild red sauce but very good. Husband had and loved SEAFOOD A LA WANDOSauteed Shrimp, Scallops and Fish with Sherry, Crabmeat, Button Mushrooms, Scallions in a Shellfish Saffron Cream Sauce, Served with a Fried Grit CakeI would return for sure. Very polished service also. Top notch!
I had made my reservation 2 months earlier to the day, which you basically have to do when you are going during peak tourist season. I couldn't wait to go there after reading all the great reviews on TA and FB. We had a 5 pm reservation and were promptly seated when we arrived at 5. Place was packed by 5:30/6 pm. Pricy, so bring your money. I had the Seafood a La Wando, which was made up of a combination of fish and seafood. It was absolutely amazing! Bread was amazing too! Service was great! Nothing special done/given if you mention that you are there for a special occasion...like a birthday. Snagged a parking spot right around the corner, fed the meter. FYI: there is free parking after 6 pm, if you can find a spot. Highly recommended!
The food and service are fantastic. The tables are too close together and the restaurant was too cold. I highly resent the 2.5% surcharge for "providing an equitable wage for kitchen staff." I'm all for providing an equitable wage for everyone. Just price it in to your food. What next? Pay toilets? I don't need to feel virtuous by paying a surcharge and talking about how wonderful it is on Facebook.
Everyone enjoyed their meal here from the starter to the desert. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely go back.
Five star food and service. Classy atmosphere. Great menu. Best scallops I have had in my life. Fried green tomatoes and she crab soup were divine. Hanks Seafood is a top shelf place to eat when you are in Charleston.
