We love this hotel! The location is great, rooms are pretty and clean. The staff is friendly and very accommodating! Violeta, at the front desk, solved a problem for us and could not have been more concerned or kind. The valet staff is absolutely fabulous. We can’t wait for our next visit!
We stayed at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Charleston for one night in early May and were anticipating a wonderful room, using our Marriott award upgrade. As it turns out, the room assigned to us (324 - see photo below) was the smallest room on the floor. When we asked why this was an 'uipgrade', we were told it was because there was a tub in the bath area (which we didn't use) and we had a 'deluxe' bed (couldn't tell by sleeping in it). We asked for a return on the award, but was told they couldn't do that. The Autograph Collection is a niche in the Marriott umbrella. It is a small hotel filled with what could be called 'Bohemian' art. There is a gallery attached to the hotel. It certainly was a different experience for us, but one tarnished by the room assignment. We expected more from this particular spoke in the Marriott umbrella and were very disappointed in our stay there, so much so that I doubt that we'll stay in another Autograph property.
The ones with the sweet the experience that I got from the staff especially Matt that works in the valet department was amazing. We asked Matt questions about the city and he did not hesitate to answer them. He was very knowledgeable about anything that we asked. The experience that we had when we were at this hotel was amazing. Matt is definitely an asset to your organization as a whole. Every time that we came down to receive our car he made us laugh the energy that he displayed wore off on some of my family incredible.
Visited Charleston with some friends and had a lovely experience. The staff was great, especially Matt in Valet. Very attentive and friendly, will definitely be coming back! The hotel is very conveniently located downtown making it easy to explore around the scenic areas of Charleston
Matt was very timely, friendly and helped in making our stay a more enjoyable experience! He was knowledgeable on the city and gave great recommendations. it was a great stay and I will be back in the near future.
We visited the grand bohemian for a strategy meeting. The staff was absolutely fantastic. Procfesional, friendly, helpful and gracious. Alex and Devin were exceptionally kind. Thank you both for a wonderful experience.
Violeta made check in a breeze and from there everything went smoothly. When my gf dropped the complimentary champagne flute and it broke all over the floor, they were there within five minutes to clean it up. I would recommend an atrium view room as it is quieter than the other options and who doesn't want to stare at art in the morning?
The title says it all. Overrated and overpriced. Small room with Atrium view on the 1st. floor. We had to disconnect the mini fridge at night because of the noise. Had to keep the drapes closed because people walks around the Atrium so they can see all what is going on in the room. Rude staff at the rooftop Bar - great people at the frontdesk though. 40 USD per day at the Valet and when they gave us our cars back it was like they parked them in a construction site - terribly dirty. 5000 USD. Sorry - won't see us again. On the positives - we could take our small Poodle with us for 150USD non refundable fee.
Beautiful hotel and great location. Valets (Jake & Matt) had excellent attitudes and were very hard workers. Check-in went smoothly for us and we loved the glasses of champagne offered to us at check-in. Loved the Bose radio playing when we entered the room, too. There’s tons of storage in the bathroom, but very little storage in the bedroom. If the nightstands had drawers, that would help. The safe worked very well. The shower is huge and has great water pressure. The bathroom amenities (lotion, shower gel, etc) were wonderful! The location of this hotel is really great and the restaurant has excellent food. The bed was a bit soft for us, but if you like a softer mattress, you’ll love this mattress. TV selection was pretty good and it was a large TV. Us and our friends, who were staying in another room, did experience a few issues at the on-set of our stay, but the manager (Tony) was very responsive and made us feel like valued guests. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The property is beautiful. The rooms are quiet and so clean. But above all, they give Excellent Service! Jed and Reggie were great! Real stand outs. From the time you get out of your car until they help you back in, they make you feel welcomed and at home. I will definitely stay again.
