I honestly hate rating them this low. They were under staffed. The servers were awesome and were very apologetic. However, I heard good things so we tried it. They did say it was a limited menu. However, the food was good but not spectacular. Drinks were okay. I honestly felt they were embarrassed
Went on a Monday night. Told the wait was 15 minutes. Fine with us. Got table 30 minutes later...still ok with us. 30 minutes later, we still had not been waited on, not even someone coming over to ask if we wanted a drink. We said something to hostess. She said she would get a wait person to us. Nothing. We left after we waited another 30 minutes and we saw 3 young ladles who came in a half hour after us get their drinks and were waited on.
Stopped here for lunch. Started out with nachos. The boys had burgers and fries. My husband had a burger and tried the plantains. He didn't care for the plantains...but he is kind of a picky eater. I had a Jerk chicken salad. Was very good.Jack was our waitor...he did a very nice job and was attentive. I would suggest this place to anyone.
My husband & I are from Upstate NewYork we are visiting Charleston SC to see family. We ate at Fuel Charleston. We ordered the Grilled Jerk Chicken Sandwich with Pineapple and Bacon with Sweet Potato Fries. The sandwich was delicious one of the best I ever had. We had street corn for the first time also delish! If in Charleston SC a must stop
We decided to try this place as it was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" some time ago. It had a cute, island feel but was a little crusty around the edges. My drink was an unattractive mediocre cocktail with a hair in the glass. I returned this. Food was pretty good. I had the grilled shrimp salad. Although had a hard time forgetting about my dirty cocktail. One of our diners had the sweet potato fries which were also really good. Feel this place needed to be cleaned up and updated a bit.
We stopped at the last minute for lunch. It's a fun place with excellent food and service. Drinks were good and prices were very reasonable.
The atmosphere is absolutely amazing! The decor fits the theme perfectly and the place is in immaculate condition (except some of the tables were sticky from the wax used). The wait staff (Bianca) were friendly and have a great memory. Nothing was written down and everything was served in perfect order, even with complicated and picky orders. The sandwiches were hot, the plantains were sweet, the fries were seasoned right, and the rice bowl was perfectly braised. The mojitos, mules, and cocktails were the best we've had in a long time!Throughout our visit to the Charleston area, we've encountered quite a few of unsavory restaurants... this is NOT one of them. Fuel Charleston is amazing!
We are visiting Charleston for the first time this weekend and decided to give Fuel a try for our first meal out. We ate here for lunch and hands down the BEST jerk chicken sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Hand cut fries are one of my favorites so I was super stoked about those as well! Our service was prompt, our app the quest carne was amazing, the entrees fresh and delicious! 10/10 recommend anyone to give this place a try! The atmosphere is literally a vibe and we loved everything about it.
Amazing service and food! We arrived late and found this gem close to where we were staying. We found two seats at the bar and was immediately welcomed by the bartender ( I wish I remember her name)! We order drinks, the Jalapeño margarita and a beer, both great! For food we order the cauliflower and shrimp tacos, a half plate of nachos and the quesadilla. The food was outstanding, large portions, and truly inexpensive. You’re missing out if you don’t visit, Fuel! We hope to return if we visit Charleston again!
excellent food, great atmosphere
