Fantastic experience. Everyone found food and a drink they enjoyed. I canât say enough about how good the food was. I had the scallop curry special and the scallops were perfect. Iâd eat the curry as a soup by itself.
We had a last minute need for a party of 5 and we got in early with no problem. Little off the beaten path. Super clean bathroom. Sultry garden patio. Amazing cocktails and they even came up with a delicious mocktail. The food was AMAZING and they were super accommodating with some serious food issues in our group. Thanks for showing us such a great night!
The food and drink options all seemed exciting, but the food at least was hit or miss. The appam and aaloo gobi appetizers were great. The fish curry was highly recommended, but the flavor was strikingly sour and the amount of curry sauce basically made it a soup. It's rare that I don't clean a plate and this was one of those times. Their version of paneer tikka masala was good but maybe only a slight step above what you'd get at a standard Indian restaurant for much less. The bread pudding dessert was light and amazing. The vibe was very hip (nice change of pace from most of the rest of downtown) and the music selection was fun. I peeked at the indoor seating and it was shockingly boring compared to the courtyard. Our waiter was nice but had no clue what he was doing...at one point, he made a tenuous guess regarding a food restriction and had to be encouraged to ask the kitchen. I had lots of hope for this place, but I'd probably only recommend going for drinks/apps with friends vs. a full meal.
Wanted to love this place, but the service just killed it. Itâs a very interesting menu and most of the dishes met expectations. The shrimp and grits were disappointing. If it were just the food Iâd go back in a heartbeat, but our entire experience left a lot to be desired. Had reserved an indoor table but was seated outside in the way back corner. There was only one other table outside at the opposite end of the patio.They had loud rap music blaring so we asked to be moved inside. We were the only table in the restaurant and unfortunately the music was just as loud inside. Servers and managers stood around talking to each other, backs to us and never acknowledged our being there, which was awkward because we were the only people there. It just felt like no one there cared about offering a good experience... As we were one of three parties in the entire restaurant it just felt very awkward and is though it was an imposition for us to be there. Hope they can right the ship bc I love the concept and menu. Very disappointing
