Best meal we had during our stay near Charleston. For an appetizer we tried their hushpuppies with honey butter spread and it was so good. My wife had the veggie pasta with added shrimp and I tried the blackened redfish sandwich with waffle fries and both were amazing. Fries are something that I hardly ever enjoy but these were great and we both finished every bite of our meals. The down side to this restaurant visit was it was very noisy where we were seated on the first floor and our server only checked on us once after our food came out then seemed to vanish until we were completely finished our meals. Other servers for other tables were very attentive however so I don't know if our server was just new and inexperienced or just having too many tables to deal with. We would most definitely return here again in the future. The dishes look amazing and we wanted to try more items on the menu.

My friend and I just finished eating at this place and I decided to review them so I would not forget. The food was basic at best and too expensive for the quality and the portions. My friend ordered a crab soup which was overpowered with nutmeg. I ordered a fish platter and the fish had no seasonings or flavor. Besides the horrible quality of the food, they also had horrible customer service. When we walked in, four workers were standing by the bar and none of them acknowledged us or the other patrons. I under that it's not their job, but they could have welcomed us since the hostess was not around. Overall, this place is overpriced offers below average food and bad service.

We made reservations for lunch and we were seated immediately. I had the Carolina Platter; it was excellent. My friend had the Grilled Seafood Trio and said it was fabulous. We'd come here again.

We went here twice. Excellent seafood.

Service was good but that pretty much says it all. My husband ordered oysters on he half shell, very small oysters. I tried one and was not impressed. He also ordered crab cake sandwich, mainly filler. He didn't eat much of it. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Stack, it was good, not outstanding but tuna was fresh. It included mang, sesame seeds, scallions, pickled ginger and Thai chili vinaigrette. I would not return. Prices were high for the lack of quality of the food. I don't recommend this restaurant. There are much better choices around that area.

On the plus side this was a good location. We sat near the window so we could people watch. The building itself is charming and service was above average. On the downside the food was average at best and thereby overpriced. The She-Crab soup had no crab and at $9 for a tiny cup I'd expect at least a sprinkle of crab. As I waited, I'd looked at the neighboring restaurants menu. They had a whole red fish for $24. Here I order the red fish, also $24 and recieved one small, bland filet. My side was Lima beans in a tiny cafeteria bowl ~ about 3 teaspoons - and cold mashed potatoes. My daughter, who had ordered sideless pasta from the kids menu, wanted beans too. I asked for a small bowl for my daughter and literally pointed to my bowl. Ended up with a giant $5 bowl of beans, much too large for one person, let along a child. This would have been a perfect opportunity for a tiny spoonful of beans. Overall, a very disappointing and expensive experience. There is much better food to be had in Charleston.

Visited this place for my birthday last week and Every single thing we had here was AMAZING. The food was so good the first visit that we ate here again the next day and ordered different entrees and drinks and it was still amazing! Our alcoholic drinks were perfect as well!

We stopped here while downtown and loved it. The food is just as good as their other locations, but the rooftop dining is excellent. The hush puppies are absolutely amazing. Our daughter loved the kids fried shrimp, and my wife and I both enjoyed our sandwiches - crab cake and fried blue shell crab. All in all, great spot.

Don’t waste your time standing in line at The Crab House. We just waited 1.5 hour (with two kids) and our place in line was cancelled. The hostess told us we had to wait another 30 minutes for a table for 8. Extremely irritated!!! The establishment needs to learn about customer service, restaurant management and crowd control. Last time I visit this restaurant (especially on a holiday weekend).

My wife and I decided to give the Charleston Crab House a try for lunch while in Charlston for the day. I'd give them 6 stars if I could!Service was quick, friendly and very attentive. Our waiter Joe was awesome.I started with hushpuppies with honey butter; very good. Also tried the she crab soup; delicious! For my entree, I ordered the red fish sandwich. It was cooked perfectly; loved it.Highly recommend the Charleston Crab House!
