I can't express enough how amazing this place is! nostalgic vibe sets up the amazing staff! the food has been consistently amazing. apple butter jeans, the Philly, fried green tomatoe sandwich, and tuna salad sandwich were all easily 10/10...everyone's so friendly but one person particularly has been extraordinary personable all 3 visits so far. Andrea deserves a raise! if she isn't management she certainly should be! so kind and sweet as we are going through the toughest time of our life that really means the world to us! sending this establishment as much love and business as we can! <3 Trevor & Lizzie
Interesting little place. Games mounted and glued to the walls, games on the table (you can actually play with those). Friendly staff. Food was decent...I had the big double burger. Fries were different - but cooked right (not too crispy - still some meat in the middle).All in all a decent little hole in the wall.
Brown Dog Deli never fails! The staff are so sweet and really know how to handle high volumes of customers gracefully. Uber Eats special notes are almost always accommodated if they have the ability to do so! Their delicious vegan options are deliciously creative and eclectic which makes it fun to choose from for someone with a plant based diet.The interior is warm and different from anything you’ll find in Charleston. Brown Dog has been my go-to for two years and will be for many more! Thanks Brown Dog staff for everything you do.
This place is awesome. The very cool 80s,90s,00s decor gives kids of all ages that feel of nostalgia. The service is great, the food (we got the hot dogs) was really good, and since it's a college town deli, prices are reasonable. Highly recommend, and we will be returning. Gotta try that Cap'n Crunch French Toast.
Great local deli, food was great! I loved my sandwich with brisket, Mac n cheese and more cheese on top it will fill up just about anybody. Also the sidewinder fries are a must try! The restaurant is filled with “old school” video games and consoles and they have the retro 90’s commercials playing on the television! What a great spot, check it out for sure!
My favorite lunch spot in Charleston! Incredible “Big Mac” hoagie and “Folly Beach” wrap with their shrimp and corn chowder… DELICIOUS!! Their sidewinder fries and potato salad was scrumptious as well:)
The food is very tasty. I'm used to more meat on a Reuben sandwich but the ingredients seemed quality. The decoration and personality of the place is worth the visit alone, not even counting how good the sandwich tasted. Three people ate for about $30, which is pretty good value for the quality.

I am visiting Charleston from out of town with my newly married wife. We are returning to Brown Dog Deli after visiting back in 2020. Both visits have been solid. I ordered the “Mac and cheese bbq sandwich” because I was feeling adventurous and wanted something different. Good food, decent service, but a very smokey room (hence the 4 stars)
