Read the review, and thought it was good. So i went for the first time. I got the lemongrass chicken rice, and it was complete disaster. Chickens look like boil chicken with no seasoning, and lemon grass mixed with it. No cooking. For 12.95. It's not worth it. The service was good.

Such a great stop! You choose the protein and then how you want it served. I loved the ground pork tacos. Very flavorful! Their semi-sweet tea was also really good. I would go back!

I've been eating Vietnamese sandwiches for 40 year after eating my first in San Francisco. My stepdaughter wanted a Bahn MI and I was in downtown Charleston so I thought I'd pick up a couple of sandwiches for her and me from this place. This was my first visit and it's definitely my last. The two sandwiches I purchased were the worst Vietnamese sandwiches I have ever eaten. They weren't even close. Vietnamese sandwiches should be served on a high quality baguette with sliced pork, cilantro, diced carrots and some secret sauce. These sandwiches had some sort of chopped meat, too many carrots, something round, white, crispy and fried all served on a soft and soggy baguette. These sandwiches cannot be explained away by maybe the sandwich maker had a bad day. No. The recipe and the ingredients were all flawed. Try somewhere else for a Bahn Mi.

I’ve eaten Vietnamese food since childhood and this was delicious! The flavors and textures of the chicken bowl reminded me of my youth. My husband had the tofu bowl and also loved it.

Great Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches. The French bread is great. You won't get pate on these (which is how I like them, although others may want a more traditional version), but the meat was well seasoned and delicious. Great for a quick bite to eat. Seating is limited though (and mostly outside) so be prepared if you are thinking of eating at the place.

Ugh so good! I ate here both days I was in Charleston, the five spice pork (and likely tofu) are delicious! I'm sure it's all good as hell and can't wait to be back.

Pictured is the five spiced pork bowl. It had lots of flavor. I got the bowl with chicken and it wasnt super flavorful and a little dry but it tasted better with the sauces.

I have visited Bon Banh Mi twice, once getting the five-spiced tofu banh mi and once getting the same protein as tacos. I found both edible but not crave-worthy; the tofu itself was not cooked well and the texture was displeasing to the point I mostly ate around it both times. This is probably an excellent spot for meat-eaters, I’d just be cautious if you’re not one. The staff is friendly, very helpful, and seem to enjoy their work.

Everything was fresh and well made. I’ve ordered the beef curry tacos, 5 spice pork drunken noodles, lemongrass chicken rice bowl. Each was excellent.

I love a good Banh Mi. I was in town for work so I decided to try this place out. The place is cute but really small inside and the workers were maskless so I took it back to my hotel. The sandwich was REALLY good. Housemade pate tasted great and super fresh. Perfect ration of pickled veggies to meat to bread. Sandwich also ate really lite. The price was very reasonable for the size of the sandwich. Oh and you have to get the hot sauce, perfect complement to an already good sandwich.
