The latte was delicious and a great size! The bagel I got was also so yummy. The cafe has a really nice overall ambiance and good seating. Even on a very busy morning, the line moved smoothly.
Visiting the area we stopped in for lunch. So glad to meet the owner John, nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. We ordered a black forest ham on bagel and a chicken salad on spinach wrap. Both came with a pickle and the best cole slaw I've had anywhere. Definitely worth stopping in if you're ever in Daniel Island.
Today was my second time in and Iv seen so many good reviews that I was willing to give this place a second try. The first time they got my bagel wrong they happily made me another one (cinn w/ strawberry cream chz). This second time around they make it wrong again. The lady opens my bagel with the same glove she's been touching everything else with she tells me it's strawberry cream cheese it's just light. And proceeds to pass it to another lady and they just scoop more cream cheese with actual strawberry cream cheese now. Now I have a mangled bagel half sour cream and onion, and strawberry tasting cinnamon bagel. Very disappointing ?
I spent the lion's share of my life in New Jersey, on the other side of the GWB from NYC. Being so close to the City, I became accustomed to having a virtually limitless array of diverse, outstanding eateries at my fingertips. Fourteen years ago, I moved to the Mid-Hudson Valley and although I love my “new” home, there are certain things that I really miss. One of those things is a really good New York City bagel. I am happy to report that my search for an authentic NYC bagel in the Mid-Hudson Valley has finally come to an end! Blondie's Bagels and Bait has mastered the art of Bagels. They have such a wide array of bagels and cream cheeses that it boggles the mind. There are the standards like onion, garlic, poppy, sesame, egg, everything, etc. But they also have some truly inspired choices like a fruity pebbles bagels and a jalapeno-cheddar-bacon bagel that is to die for, (and more)! Their house-made cream cheeses are equally inspired! They provide the standard cream cheese varieties like veggie, scallion, strawberry, etc., but here too, they go the extra mile and offer creative, indulgent choices like Funfetti Cream cheese, jalapeno cheddar, and horseradish bacon! But wait, there's more! They have amazing sandwiches and salads too. And they have free local delivery! And if you want to go fishing afterward, they'll sell you a rod and some bait! I love this place! It is an oasis in the bagel desert. Once you try one of their bagels, you will never go anywhere else... What's next for the creative minds at Blondie's? I don't know, but I hope it's an authentic round, fried Coney Island knish! Just sayin.... :)
We ate breakfast here for the 2 days we were in the area and it was so good that we ordered takeout for the following day when we had an early morning flight! They had a dill cucumber cream cheese special which I had 3 times on an asiago bagel with lox! Delicious!
This place is the worst managed business I have ever been too. If you want the bagel you would like to eat, you better get there at 7am when they open, because by 8-9am they are already out of half their bagels. They do not make more. I went there at 930 am and they were already out of all the plain bagels. I was also told they were not making anymore. What kind of bagel shop runs out of plain at any time? This happens every single wknd. They run out of at least 4-5 different flavors of bagels by 9am, when they are open another 4 hours. They refuse to make more. They also constantly mess up orders and give people the wrong bagels they ordered. They just lost my business of getting 4-5 bagels, 4 days a week, every single week. If you actually want to eat the bagels you really want, you should definitely go somewhere else. They will never change. My girlfriend still goes here and tries giving you guys multiple chances because I refuse to go back. Unless you’re there before 830am, you guys run out of at least multiple flavors 2-3-4 hours before you close. This is not “we try to our best to accommodate our guests with what we have”. This is terrible business practice. Unless people get there between 7am-830am, you guys run out of bagels when you are still open 3.5 more hours. Most bagels places I know, make more bagels. You guys just say “hey we’re on Daniel island, there are no other bagel places near us, so we will have customers no matter what. We don’t care if we run out of the bagels, because we get busy every weekend no matter what so they will order what we have.” You guys are out of multiple flavors of bagels every single weekend by 8-9am. It’s just terrible business. I have owned 2 different businesses. I know what it takes to please the customer. And trust me “it’s not telling them we try and do our best”, when honestly you guys could care less what you run out of. How about taking stock, and when customers constantly order bagels you are out of, keep track so you can make more the next day or weekend. You make no effort to improve. So I will never go back. You’re lucky you still even get my girlfriends business. But I’m not wasting $200-$400 a month on you guys anymore. That will not change until you guys change and you haven’t and do not seem to be any time in the near future. Let’s see would I rather sell 12-15 more bagels of each flavor we run out of, which is half of the bagel flavors, and maybe have to throw away the couple of the extra bagels we don’t sell, or would I rather continue to keep running out of bagels every day, so customers have to order what they don’t really want. That’s a tough decision!! You guys could care less about putting 4-5 times the amount of cream cheese needed, and wasting that item, but you do care about having to throw away a couple of extra bagels made to please customers. If you want to be efficient, effective, and pleasing to the customer, really think about that. Seriously!
Perfect little breakfast stop! We are in town visiting and my husband was on his way into the office so we stopped by for a quick bite. The cafe is adorable, open and friendly. Coffee was almost too hot to drink! And our breakfast sandwiches were delicious!! Plenty left over for later. Highly recommend!!
Been going Blondies for years and have purchased hundreds of dozens of bagels for customers. However over the past few months the bagels have gotten so thin that you feel you are eating BAGEL CHIPS when sliced in half. Not good. Very disappointed customers expressing concern every day.
Great bagel or breakfast place. Pretty small and ALWAYS busy. I live on Danial Island and this is a regular spot to eat for me. Their lunch is pretty good as well. Very clean and workers are great.
Sweet local spot with delicious bagels and sandwiches! Great coffee and lattes too! I love that it’s close to everything on DI. Have been here several times and it’s always good. The lox sandwiches are also delicious too!
