I cannot speak highly enough of this bar, their food, the overall atmosphere, and their bartender Eddie. I don’t usually leave reviews but what I experienced yesterday was nothing short of gold standard dining. To start things off they had every game imaginable playing. The food was delicious and came out quickly. But the highlight of the whole experience was my bartender Eddie. He was funny, personable, and holds an amazing conversation. He did all this while also tending to the rest of the full bar. It was amazing watching him make multiple drinks at a time while also conversing with every customer and explaining different cocktails. He even made me a customer cocktail based on my taste and then named the drink after me. He was so knowledgeable and made everyone, including myself, feel like family. If you go there ask for Eddie .
I have had several great experiences at first place. The drinks are always delicious and the staff offer great customer service. My bartender,Eddie, made me and my girlfriend several delicious drinks. He always made us feel so special and I look for him every time I come in. He makes such good drinks and gets so creative with them. Every time we walk in he has a new drink for us to try and each one is better than the last.
This place is the cats meow. Whenever I come, I am greeted by the greatest bartenders in Charleston (Jen, Mike, and Natalia). They are amazing. They made me feel right at home from the beginning. As someone who had no friends before moving to Charleston, I appreciate each and every one of them. We have the time of our lives and listen to fantastic music. Side note the chicken tenders are a little pricey. I suggest bringing the price down to make me order more food.
I visited Charleston last weekend, and 1st Place was my favorite sports bar I went to. Not only was the food great, seriously the burger and fries are that good, but the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Mike was a super fun bartender to chat with, and gave us some great insight on what to do with our weekend. Overall fantastic experience!
Came here with some friends for the first time a couple days ago and really like the place. Good beer selection. Always nice to see a place that's not all IPAs. They also had some interesting mixed drinks. I normally stick to beers, but Mike recommended the Walk On, and it was so good I ended up having two. Service was great in general, and I appreciate that Mike always kept my water glass filled, which most servers/bartenders neglect. I'll definitely be back to try some of their food and get more drinks.
1st place is the bar to be at. Came in for one drink and ended up staying the whole night. This was mainly because of Eddie. After only one visit he has become my favorite bartender in Charleston. He made me and my friends all these amazing customized drinks and everyone was better than the last. Defiantly the gem of the establishment. If you go to 1st place, which you should, ask for Eddie. Will defiantly be back whenever I can with all my friends.
Eddie is the best bartender there is. I'm not saying that out of flattery. He can make whatever drink you want with the smallest amount of explanation you give him. He's truely a talented bartender. On top of thIs the food was amazing. Eddie even made us cocktail that paired so well with our meal. I will be telling everyone about 1st place. 10/10 experience.
I would definitely consider myself a regular at 1st place and what keeps me coming back is the friendly service from Jenn and the cold beer! Jenn absolutely elevates the experience. I highly recommend 1st place and be sure to ask for her when you go! She is truly an asset to any restaurant she works at!
