Best oysters…best service…best experience! Highly recommend.
This is not a traditional Japanese restaurant and I usually don't like fusion, but the flavors here were actually exceptional! The chef managed to combine authentic flavors in a new way that was surprising yet familiar. The salmon tartare had a great yuzu flavor and the milk bread base was perfectly toasted. The wagyu skewers were amazing. The duck Confit was my favorite. Very crispy skin and very soft meat. I recommend getting the poached egg to mix into the rice. The soba noodles were a little weaker. The vinegar sauce was good, but the noodles were just not fresh enough and therefore a bit mushy. Still good though!Overall, amazing place, I definitely recommend!
Aggressively average sushi. Service was pretty lame too.Came in for a mid-day meal + some drinks and the waitress was pretty cold and was more interested in talking to her friend at the end of the bar. Had to ask for chopsticks, soy sauce, and wasabi after our food came out. Would’ve looked past the food if she had been a little more warm/attentive… not asking for much. This place was a let down especially after we experienced how great the food and staff was at 167 Raw Oyster Bar.
We walked up and the host left us outside standing in the sun for what felt like 10 minutes to get a table ready in an almost empty restaurant. The dining is so fine the menu doesn’t make sense. $100 for lunch for 3 people. We got 3 pieces of sashimi, 3 dumplings, a side portion of duck fried rice and a crab sushi roll. I live and work in the area and it’s a shame that a local will not be back. Tourist trap.
Some of the best raw and seafood specialties we have ever had. We ordered a second round of food because it was so good. Here’s the best thing. Expect a long and well deserved wait. Highly recommend and go walking through Charleston during your wait.

This tiny little gem of a sushi place was so good! I’m shocked there are only two reviews! My husband and I always seek out these tiny little gems and this was on the top of the list. We sat at the chefs bar with another couple, enjoyed a good beer and a bubbly white and watched the chefs create this works of art. We started with a taste of tuna poke, chargrilled octopus and a bao bun of pork belly. The sushi chef was creating his special for the evening and allowed us to taste and critique it…turbot with this lovely light vinaigrette and caviar. That in its self made us feel special. We ended sharing the crispy duck rice. Oh my goodness…the chef that made it in front of us gave me tips for making it myself. Truly was so good and the staff just really made our day out. Having traveled all over the world. Charleston it’s self has some of the best service in the country. Love to try new places but 167 Sushi will be and always every time we visit.
We loved our experience here! It’s intimate and personal and the sushi is exquisite. The salmon nigiri was outstanding. Our waiter brought out a special birthday treat, which made the evening even more special.
The food was phenomenal, creative to a peak experience. Miles was one of the Chefs and shared info about he prepared for us & was very engaging! Shane was our server and very enthusiastic about both the drink menu and food! I highly recommend, but be sure to reserve early, as it is a smaller venue and highly popular..However, it's worth it!
Great sushi ? with a flare of elegance. They had big eye tuna, sea bass and a few others as their fish of the day. The nigiri and sashimi were fresh and staff was laid back. Location is on the small side but everyone was super friendly.
